An overview is given of different approaches to describing the process of deconfine-ment in quantum chromodynamics. The analysis of the known approaches demonstrates that the detailed picture of how deconfinement really occurs has not yet been understood. Therefore, one has to be rather cautious when interpreting experimental signals as attributed to deconfinement.

Structural analogs of nitrogen mustard including choline and ethanolamine, previously shown to act as competitive inhibitors of nitrogen mustard (HN2) transport, have been examined for their ability to protect LSI78Y lymphoblasts against the cytocidal action of HN2 in vitro. The D0 (the dose of drug reducing survival to 37% of the initial cell population) for cells treated with HN2 was increase...

7α-methyl-19-nortestosterone (MENT) is an androgen with potent gonadotropin inhibitory activity and prostate-sparing effects. These attributes give MENT advantages over testosterone as a male contraceptive, but, as in the case of testosterone, a partial dose-dependent suppression of spermatogenesis has been observed. Combination of testosterone or MENT with synthetic progestins improves the rat...

We deene a compositional labelled transition system semantics for statecharts via a translation into a new process language called SP. The main novelty of the language is an operator of process reene-ment, which reeects the statecharts hierarchical structure. The translation agrees with Pnueli and Shalev semantics of statecharts. However, since the language is parametric in the set of basic act...

Juvenile male M. a. ater cowbirds, who have never heard other male cowbirds sing, develop distinctively different repertoires when housed with M. a. ater females from their own area versus M. a. obscurus females from a distant population. Because female cowbirds do not sing, the differences in the males' songs do not arise through vocal imitation. Here we provide data demonstrating that the son...
