This review analyzes the literature from 80’s to beginning of 2020 and covers use carbon materials as supports for cobalt-based catalysts used in Fischer Tropsch reaction. The article is composed two sections. first one details reactivity supported cobalt with a particular focus on: i) reaction mechanisms conditions, ii) effect particle size, iii) confinement effects, iv) hydrogen spillover, v)...
In this study, the effect of preparation technique of carbon nanotube (CNT)-supported cobalt catalysts on the activity and selectivity of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) was studied. Different concentrations of acetic acid were used for the pretreatment of the catalyst support to modify the surface properties of CNT. This modification improved the reduction degree and dispersion of supported co...
The discovery of the catalytic synthesis of ammonia must rank as one of the important discoveries by mankind. In addition to providing the fertilizer needed to feed an expanding population, Fritz Haber’s recognition of recycle processing combined with the developing German technology to handle high pressures of hydrogen, led a major revolution in the chemical industry. In rapid succession, the ...
Water Gas Shift Reaction: The turn-over-rate (TOR) for the water gas shift (WGS) reaction of 1.4 nm Au/Al2O3 is approximately 20 times higher than that of 1.6 nm Pt/Al2O3. In addition, Au has high activity at lower reaction temperature than Pt. Operando XAFS experiments at both the Au and Pt L3 edges reveal that under reaction conditions, the catalysts are fully metallic. Adsorption of CO, H2 a...
Hierarchical structured α-Al2O3 is shown to be able to effectively disperse and immobilize iron species, in comparison with commercial α-Al2O3. After promotion using an appropriate amount of sulfur, iron catalysts exhibit not only enhanced Fischer-Tropsch synthesis activity and selectivity toward lower olefins, but also increased resistance against carbon deposits.
−A comprehensive parametric study for a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis process has been conducted to investigate the relation between process parameters and reactor characteristics such as conversion, selectivity, multiplicity, and stability. A flexible model was employed for this purpose, featuring the dependence of Anderson-Shultz-Flory (ASF) factor on composition and temperature. All variabl...
