As is well known, quantum speed limit time (QSLT) can be used to characterize the maximal speed of evolution of quantum systems. We mainly investigate the QSLT of generalized N-qubit GHZ-type states and W-type states in the amplitude-damping channels. It is shown that, in the case N qubits coupled with independent noise channels, the QSLT of the entangled GHZ-type state is closely related to th...

We have designed, fabricated, and characterized metamaterial enhanced bimaterial cantilever pixels for far-infrared detection. Local heating due to absorption from split ring resonators (SRRs) incorporated directly onto the cantilever pixels leads to mechanical deflection which is readily detected with visible light. Highly responsive pixels have been fabricated for detection at 95 GHz and 693 ...

We propose efficient schemes for converting three-photon, four-photon and five-photon GHZ state to a W state or Dicke state, respectively with the nitrogen-vacancy (N-V) centers via single-photon input-output process and cross-Kerr nonlinearities. The total success probability can be improved by iterating the conversion process for the case of three-photon and five-photon while it does not requ...

The compositional techniques of categorical quantum mechanics are applied to analyse 3-qubit quantum entanglement. In particular the graphical calculus of complementary observables and corresponding phases due to Duncan and one of the authors is used to construct representative members of the two genuinely tripartite SLOCC classes of 3-qubit entangled states, GHZ and W. This nicely illustrates ...

We describe a low-temperature sample probe for the electrical detection of magnetic resonance in a resonant W-band (94  GHz) microwave cavity. The advantages of this approach are demonstrated by experiments on silicon field-effect transistors. A comparison with conventional low-frequency measurements at X-band (9.7  GHz) on the same devices reveals an up to 100-fold enhancement of the signal in...

We report on evanescently coupled Ge waveguide photodetectors that are grown on top of Si rib waveguides. A Ge waveguide detector with a width of 7.4mum and length of 50 mum demonstrated an optical bandwidth of 31.3 GHz at -2V for 1550nm. In addition, a responsivity of 0.89 A/W at 1550 nm and dark current of 169 nA were measured from this detector at -2V. A higher responsivity of 1.16 A/W was a...

This paper presents a W-band 2 2 focal-plane array (FPA) for passive millimeter-wave imaging in a standard 0.18 m SiGe BiCMOS process ( GHz). The FPA incorporates four Dicke-type receivers representing four imaging pixels. Each receiver employs the direct-conversion architecture consisting of an on-chip slot folded dipole antenna, an SPDT switch, a low noise amplifier, a single-balanced mixer, ...

We have measured the electrically detected magnetic resonance of donor-doped silicon field-effect transistors in resonant X- (9.7 GHz) and W-band (94 GHz) microwave cavities. The two-dimensional electron gas resonance signal increases by 2 orders of magnitude from X to W band, while the donor resonance signals are enhanced by over 1 order of magnitude. Bolometric effects and spin-dependent scat...

We present a survey of ∼800 deg2 of the galactic plane observed with the QUaD telescope. The primary products of the survey are maps of Stokes I, Q, and U parameters at 100 and 150 GHz, with spatial resolution of 5′ and 3.′5, respectively. Two regions are covered, spanning approximately 245◦–295◦ and 315◦–5◦ in the galactic longitude l and −4◦ < b < +4◦ in the galactic latitude b. At 0. ◦02 squ...

Abstract In a recent paper, DONG et al. proposed a scheme for probabilistic controlled teleportation of a triplet W state using combined non-maximally entangled channel of two Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) states and one Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state. In this paper, only using one Einstein-PodolskyRosen (EPR) state and one Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state, the scheme for probab...
