Background Passive glenohumeral range of motion may be characteristically limited to specific shoulder pathologies. While pain associated with loss of range of passive external glenohumeral rotation is recognized as a salient feature in adhesive capsulitis, restriction of glenohumeral range of motion in calcific tendinitis of the supraspinatus tendon has never been studied. Hypothesis On the ...

The surgical repair of an extensive anterior glenohumeral soft tissue defect is complicated by glenohumeral instability and subsequent significant functional deficit. This surgical note offers a relatively simple reconstruction of the anterior capsule and subscapularis muscle using a pectoralis minor pedicle flap. This reconstruction is supplemented with functional reconstruction of the anterio...

Background Currently, non-surgical treatments for glenohumeral osteoarthritis (GH-OA) mainly aim to reduce pain. Autologous conditioned serum (ACS), Orthokine, an interleukin-1 inhibitor from the patient's own blood has anti-inflammatory effect. The objective was determine whether intra-articular injections of this ACS improved symptoms in patients with GH-OA and delayed need a shoulder replace...

Traumatic interposition of a rotator cuff tendon in the glenohumeral joint without recognizable glenohumeral dislocation is an unusual complication after shoulder trauma. Here we report the clinical and imaging presentations of a 17-year-old man with trapped rotator cuff tendons in the glenohumeral joint after a bicycle accident. The possible trauma mechanism is also discussed.

The arthroscopic treatment of a humeral avulsion of the glenohumeral ligaments lesion allows for a safe, reproducible, and effective way to reestablish the inferior glenohumeral ligament and capsular complex to the humerus.

The middle glenohumeral ligament (MGHL) typically contributes partially to the anterior stability of the shoulder. In a very limited number of cases, the MGHL can cause abrasion on the upper edge of the subscapularis causing persistent pain symptoms for patients. The condition is exacerbated by internal rotation of the arm. In this Technical Note, we describe this entity and call it the SAM les...

BACKGROUND Glenohumeral exploration is routinely performed during arthroscopic removal of rotator cuff calcifications in patients with calcific tendinitis of the shoulder (CTS). However, evidence on the prevalence of intraarticular co-pathologies is lacking and the benefit of glenohumeral exploration remains elusive. The aim of the present study was to assess and quantify intraoperative patholo...

We report an unusual case of simultaneous bilateral anterior glenohumeral fracture dislocation following fall from standing height. A 24 years old male presented with bilateral anterior glenohumeral dislocation with no peripheral motor, sensory or vascular deficit. Closed reduction was done for right glenohumeral dislocation and on left side open reduction and internal fixation was done. He was...
