Two patients, intubated for inoperable carcinoma of the oesophagus, recently presented with their tubes blocked by granulation tissue. This complication has not been previously reported. The tissue macroscopically resembled normal mucosa in one and recurrent tumour in the other. The presentation, aetiology, and significance of this granulation tissue is discussed.

The purpose of this research was to improve the granulation efficiency and the final granule characteristics for the any kind of the material that is to be granulated via FBG process. The fluid bed granulation process is an influenced by various processing parameters like atomization pressure, binder addition rate, in let temperature etc. These process variables largely affect the granulation e...

A top-down, step-wise progressive computing model is presented as a mode of granular computing. Based on a multilevel granular structure, progressive computing explores a sequence of refinements from coarser information granulation to finer information granulation. A basic progressive computing algorithm is introduced. Examples of progressive computing are provided.

experimental work was carried out to investigate the influence of impeller speed, granulation time, binder mass and their interactions on granule size distribution, mean size and binder content distribution in a conical high shear granulator. it was observed that the response of high shear granulation to changes in process parameters varies significantly from one operating condition to another....

Vascularization of bioartificial matrices is crucial for successful tissue engineering. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPC) have shown vascularization potential in ischemic conditions and may also support blood vessel formation in tissue-engineered matrices. The aim of our study was to investigate the impact of a well-characterized murine embryonal EPC line (T17b-EPC) on vascularization and fibr...

Human granulation-tissue fibroblasts were cultured from oral chronic inflammatory lesions and compared with fibroblasts of healthy gingival connective tissue with respect to cell-surface sialoglycoproteins, and the synthesis of extracellular matrix components. Granulation-tissue fibroblasts exhibited a slower growth rate and larger size than their controls. Their cell-surface sialoglycoproteins...

BACKGROUND During inflammation, the serum concentrations of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF), plasma interleukin-6 (IL-6), and C-reactive protein (CRP) increase. A positive correlation between CRP and the percentages of neutrophils exhibiting toxic granulation during inflammation has been demonstrated, and that the fluctuations of CRP and toxic granulation of neutrophils were simil...

The object of this study was to develop hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) based cephalexin extended release tablet, which can release the drug for six hours in predetermined rate. Twenty-one batches of cephalexin tablets were prepared by changing various physical and chemical parameters, in order to get required theoretical release profile. The influences of HPMC, microcrystalline cellulose ...

Macrophage galactose-type C-type lectins (MGLs), which were recently named CD301, have 2 homologues in mice: MGL1 and MGL2. MGLs are expressed on macrophages and immature dendritic cells. The persistent presence of granulation tissue induced by a protein antigen was observed in wild-type mice but not in mice lacking an endogenous, macrophage-specific, galactose-type calcium-type lectin 1 (MGL1)...
