Much of the current literature from both neuroimaging and post mortem studies points to a reduction in intracranial size and cerebrum in schizophrenia. Intriguingly, there is also evidence for reduced extracranial size in infants at high risk for schizophrenia, while studies in adults with schizophrenia which have assessed head size have been inconclusive. Using head measures of circumference, ...

Monoidal width was recently introduced by the authors as a measure of complexity decomposing morphisms in monoidal categories. We have shown that category cospans graphs, and its variants can be used to capture tree width, path branch width. In this paper we study matrices, an extension different open where connectivity information is handled with matrix algebra graphs are composed along edges ...

This article presents a study on the performance characteristics of Francis turbine operating with various guide vane openings to determine best point based unit quantities. The were specified width between vanes at their exit, i.e., 10 mm, 13 16 and 19 mm. characteristic curves turbine—head versus speed, torque discharge efficiency speed—were obtained input power openings. From these data, plo...

Hierarchical cluster analysis based on female morphometric character means including body length, distance from vulva opening to anterior end, head width, odontostyle length, esophagus length, body width, tail length, and tail width were used to examine the morphometric relationships and create dendrograms for (i) 62 populations belonging to 9 Longidorus species from Arkansas, (ii) 137 publishe...

A new species of catshark (Carcharhiniformes, Scyliorhinidae), Scyliorhinus ugoi sp. nov., is described from off Northeastern and Southeastern Brazil. The new species is closest to the Scyliorhinus haeckelii/besnardi group and S. hesperius but differs in background coloration, head width, sexual maturity, and in cranial and body proportions.

The mechanisms which control the formation and maintenance of pool–riffles are fundamental aspects of channel form and process. Most of the previous investigations on pool–riffle sequences have focused on alluvial rivers, and relatively few exist on the maintenance of these bedforms in boulder-bed channels. Here, we use a high-resolution two-dimensional flow model to investigate the interaction...

Using nonintrusive imaging techniques we have directly observed the nanoscopic details of the magnetization configuration of epitaxial and polycrystalline mesoscopic ring structures with a ,15-nm resolution. We have found head to head domain walls with different spin structures depending on ring width. Further, we can classify the geometry dependent switching processes according to the number o...

Fifty-four per cent of 41 chronically institutionalized adult patients with epilepsy had ataxia of gait (wide mean stride width). None of the following correlated with stride width: serum phenytoin, previous phenytoin toxicity, seizure frequency, or status epilepticus. Seventeen of the 41 patients had computed tomographic head scans. Patients with radiological evidence of cerebellar atrophy had...

The usefulness of a virtual character depends on its ability to fulfill the user’s expectations: among other aspects, the character’s appearance should match her/his personality as well as her/his behavior [11]. It has indeed been shown that the better a character looks the part, the more believable and effective she/he will be in the narrative [13, 8]. This paper presents a system which genera...

Birth order and its effect on growth and development of children and youths have rarely been studied so far. The objective of this research was an analysis of the birth order effects on some anthropometric properties of the boys 11-16 years old. The sample consisted of 748 boys from the Tuzla region. As the sample included very few boys born as the third, forth, or fifth child, we decided to co...
