The hydrodynamic model of electron transport in semiconductors is analyzed and in analogy to fluid mechanics the transport equation for the electron vorticity, ∇×v, is derived. Aside from the classical hydrodynamic sources of vorticity, collision terms in the continuity and momentum equations may also generate electron vorticity. A scale analysis of the electron vorticity equation is performed ...
We simulate electron transport in ultra small mercury-cadmium-telluride n-n-n diodes using a hydrodynamic approach. A numerical staggered solution is employed to treat the coupled hydrodynamic and Poisson equations, where the spatial profiles of the main transport parameters within the diodes are analyzed including the Auger generationrecombination processes. Our numerical results show that, ev...
In this study, liquid-liquid extraction process in a Kuhni extraction column was modeled and simulated. A non-equilibrium dynamic model was developed for modeling liquid-liquid extraction processes based on a rate-based model. The model equations are inclusive of partial and ordinary differential equations which were discretized in column height direction. The population balance model was used ...
in this research, the effect of surface roughness and bubble injection on skin friction and hydrodynamic drag force has been numerically considered. this research is based on taylor-couette flow. considered flow includes two concentric cylinders which internal cylinder is movable and external is immovable. the effective equations on the flow includes: equations of momentum, continuous, turbulen...
Solutions of the system of dynamical equations of state and equations of the balance of mass and momentum are studied. The system possesses families of periodic, quasiperiodic and soliton-like invariant solutions. Self-similar solutions of this generalized hydrodynamic system are studied. Various complicated regimes, arising as a result with terms desribing relaxing and dissipative properties o...
Symmetry constraints for (2+1)-dimensional dispersionless integrable equations are considered. It is demonstrated that they naturally lead to systems of hydrodynamic type which arise within the reduction method. One also easily obtaines an associated complex curve (Sato function) and corresponding generating equations. Dispersionless KP and 2DTL hierarchy are considered as illustrative examples.
My research work centers around two broad topics: The analysis of nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (PDE) of elliptic and parabolic type (mainly free boundary problems and reaction-diffusion equations) and the study of transport phenomena (particularly the connection between kinetic and hydrodynamic models). My main contributions are described below (preprints are available at http://www...
Introduction. Whitham's averaged equations [1] for a nonlinear evolution system describe slow modulations of parameters on a family of periodic traveling wave solutions (or on families of multiphase quasiperiodic solutions, which are so far knows to exist only for integrable equations) and are a system of hydrodynamic type [2, 3], that is, of the form
We consider coupled models for particulate flows, where the disperse phase is made of particles subject to size variations. We are thus led to kinetic equations with coagulation and breakup operators, coupled to fluid mechanics equations. We discuss the existence and stability of stationary solutions. We also derive macroscopic models through asymptotic hydrodynamic regimes, once relevant scali...
Building on the Radon transform of the Vlasov-Poisson equations, a macroscopic fluid model for the coherent beam-beam interaction has been developed. It is shown that the Vlasov equation, expressed in action-angle variables, can be reduced to a closed set of hydrodynamic (fluid) equations for the beam density and current velocity. The linearized one-dimensional equations have been analysed, and...
