A high-current, wide-band transconductance amplifier is described that provides an unprecedented level of output current at high frequencies with exceptional stability. It is capable of converting a signal voltage applied to its input into a groundreferenced output rms current up to 100 A over a frequency range from dc to 100 kHz with a useable frequency extending to 1 MHz. The amplifier has a ...

A 0.1–12GHz Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) with an active balun is proposed for multi-standard applications. In order to realize wideband matching and single-to-differential (S2D) conversion simultaneously, a single-end resistive negative feedback amplifier is adopted as the first stage for input impedance matching, and a novel active balun consisting of common source amplifier and source follower i...

This paper describes a switched audio amplifier that achieves high efficiency without the major drawbacks associated with this kind of amplifiers. The problems of high harmonic distortion and low rejection of supply variations are minimised by use of One Cycle Control. A new filter topology allows load impedance variation without gain variation in the audio band.

This paper reports the optimisation of the low-frequency response of a multi-stage bioelectric amplifier intended for use in the measurement of the electrocardiogram (ECG) using un-gelled electrodes. The frequency response was optimised to meet the International Electrotechnical Commission 60601 performance standards for electrocardiographs [1,2]. The low frequency response of a multi-stage amp...

The signal conditioning circuit of the electrostatic sensor is a small signal amplifier that collects and amplifies the detected electrostatic noise. Due to its high amplification properties, the output signal is highly susceptible to be defaced by intrinsic or extrinsic noise. This paper is proposed a low noise signal conditioning circuit for electrostatic sensor. A circuit model is proposed a...

Microfluidic impedance sensors play a significant role in point-of-care applications, clinical tests and laboratory studies. Instead of the traditional signal process method with the envelope detector, filter banks and multistage amplifier, we have reported a new implement using synchronous sampling and orthogonal detecting. By studying the intensity and phase modulation in the cell impedance s...

The lock-in amplifier can be used in instrumentation systems as a part of the conditioning circuit that optimizes and supports the signals coming from sensors, being capable of measuring the electrical impedance (or admittance) of such sensors, by exciting them with a local oscillator. In industrial environments and research laboratories, it is important to ensure that the level of current pass...

We report traveling-wave quadrature squeezing at 1064 nm in a quasi-phase-matched LiNbO(3) waveguide, avoiding the gain-induced diffraction encountered in bulk squeezing experiments. The 10-mm-long singlemode waveguide parametric amplifier exhibited a gain of 1.9, averaged over the 20-ps mode-locked pulses, with only 0.5 W of peak pump power at 532 nm. Independent waveguides were employed for t...

Abstract Decoupling transmission line (TL) is a low characteristic impedance TL that is used for isolating DC and RF signals in millimeter-wave CMOS circuits. Low characteristic impedance makes the direct measurements difficult for characterization. A shunt characterization method is presented for the characterization. In this method, the S-parameters are calculated directly. Nevertheless, the ...

We are presenting here our recent results of noise temperature and impedance measurements for NbN Hot Electron Bolometer (HEB) mixers. The noise temperature measurements were performed over a 1-8 GHz IF band using an LO frequency of about 1.6 THz using quasi-optical coupling and a single low noise HEMT MMIC amplifier. On the other hand, the impedance measurements were completed with a network a...
