Nowadays, it is quite agreed that organizations gain limited advantages in adopting e-learning platforms that only provide educational contents. An advantageous e-learning platform should have instead the capability to help enrich, share and circulate organization knowledge, thus contributing to making the organization dynamic and flexible. In this paper MASEL, a Multi-Agent System for E-Learni...

This paper presents a multi-agent system called GAIN (Grid Agent Infrastructure), which can be used for the development of flexible agent-based Grid systems. The system supports users both in the development and execution of Grid applications. In particular, GAIN allows the definition of workflow applications by composing different tasks made available by the Grid nodes. Furthermore, it follows...

In this paper we propose a multi-agent architecture for web information retrieval using fuzzy logic based result fusion mechanism. The model is designed in JADE framework and takes advantage of JXTA agent communication method to allow agent communication through firewalls and network address translators. This approach enables developers to build and deploy P2P applications through a unified med...

The purpose of this literature review is to provide the information about illustrating the usage of Multi-Agent System (MAS) techniques that can be beneficial in cloud computing platform to facilitate security of cloud data storage (CDS) among it. MAS are often distributed and agents have proactive and reactive features which are very useful for cloud data storage security (CDSS). The architect...

Rescheduling disrupted railway traffic is computationally hard even for small problem instances. Disruptions may not be known beforehand and can manifest themselves even when trains are en-route, and they are usually resolved by human experts. Wide geographical distribution, a dynamically changing environment, complex interdependencies between multiple components, operational criticality and un...

Nowadays, high expectation of efficiency and effectiveness encourages the prefabrication usage in housing construction industry. However, the expected benefits cannot always be obtained. One of the reasons is the inadequate skill and experience of personnel for normal situation and changed situation. The skills and experiences are required for some tasks in the normal situation, although person...

In this paper, a novel agent-based ontology integration framework is developed for agents which consume ontologies in ontology-based applications as well as engage in tasks of ontology integration. The corresponding ontology integration mechanism is discussed. Derived ontologies can be reused in the system. A prototype is built by using the JADE agent platform for evaluation.

Virtual Environments (VE) present a complex problem with interesting non-trivial challenges for software development. The problems increase when considering VE that are both distributed and shared amongst multiple participants. The majority of existing systems supporting Large Scale VE (LSVE) are based on monolithic architectures, making maintenance and software reuse difficult at best. This pa...
