Some of the well-known convergence acceleration algorithms, when viewed as two-variable difference equations, are equivalent to discrete soliton equations. It is shown that the η−algorithm is nothing but the discrete KdV equation. In addition, one generalized version of the ρ−algorithm is considered to be integrable discretization of the cylindrical KdV equation. ‡ E-mail: [email protected]...

Taking the coupled KdV system as a simple example, analytical and nonsingular complexiton solutions are firstly discovered in this letter for integrable systems. Additionally, the analytical and nonsingular positon-negaton interaction solutions are also firstly found for S-integrable model. The new analytical positon, negaton and complexiton solutions of the coupled KdV system are given out bot...

Statistical properties of the noisy Burgers and KdV-Burgers equations are numerically studied. It is found that shock-like structures appear in the timeaveraged patterns for the case of stepwise fixed boundary conditions. Our results show that the shock structure for the noisy KdV-Burgers equation has an oscillating tail, even for the time averaged pattern. Also, we find that the width of the s...

A quantum lattice gas representation is determined for both the non-linear Schrödinger (NLS) and Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equations. There is excellent agreement with the solutions from these representations to the exact soliton–soliton collisions of the integrable NLS and KdV equations. These algorithms could, in principle, be simulated on a hybrid quantum-classical computer.  2003 Elsevier Sc...

Geometric discretizations that preserve certain Hamiltonian structures at the discrete level has been proven to enhance the accuracy of numerical schemes. In particular, numerous symplectic and multi-symplectic schemes have been proposed to solve numerically the celebrated Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. In this work, we show that geometrical schemes are as much robust and accurate as Fourier...

Two classes of rational solutions to a KdV-like nonlinear differential equation are constructed. The basic object is a generalized bilinear differential equation based on a prime number p 1⁄4 3. A conjecture is made that the two presented classes of rational solutions contain all rations solutions to the considered KdV-like equation, which are generated from polynomial solutions to the correspo...

In this paper we establish the nonlinear stability of solitary travelling-wave solutions for the Kawahara-KdV equation ut + uux + uxxx − γ1uxxxxx = 0, and the modified Kawahara-KdV equation ut + 3u 2ux + uxxx − γ2uxxxxx = 0, where γi ∈ R is a positive number when i = 1, 2. The main approach used to determine the stability of solitary travelling-waves will be the theory developed by Albert in [1].

In this paper, we apply the Miura transformation to construct the connection between a variablecoefficient KdV (vcKdV) equation and a variable-coefficient modified KdV (vcmKdV) equation under certain constraint. Solving the vcmKdV equation by use of the auxiliary equation method and using the Miura transformation, we find a rich variety of new exact solutions for the vcKdV equation, which inclu...

We use a generalized Cole-Hopf transformation to obtain a condition that allows us to find exact solutions for several forms of the general seventh-order KdV equation KdV7 . A remarkable fact is that this condition is satisfied by three well-known particular cases of the KdV7. We also show some solutions in these cases. In the particular case of the seventh-order Kaup-Kupershmidt KdV equation w...

In this Letter, we consider a coupled Schrödinger–Korteweg–de Vries equation (or Sch–KdV) equation with appropriate initial values using the Adomian’s decomposition method (or ADM). In this method, the solution is calculated in the form of a convergent power series with easily computable components. The method does not need linearization, weak nonlinearity assumptions or perturbation theory. Th...
