This paper investigates for the first time effects of Z-pins on magnetic properties composite laminates. In-plane and out-of-plane M-H curves IM7/8552 laminates with without have been characterised by an MPMS3 SQUID magnetometer. Two kinds pin materials (T300/BMI ferromagnetic Ni/Fe alloy) studied at three different volume fractions (nominally 0.5%, 2% 4%). The unpinned carbon-fibre pinned were...

We have constructed a torsional magnetometer for use with small samples. To increase the sensitivity six sets of electrodes are present instead of one. First results have been obtained on the magnetisation of a single layer, high mobility A1GaAs-GaAs heterojunction 2DEG between 2 and 4 K.

We present results of dc magnetisation study showing that the low temperature antiferromagnetic state in various CeFe2-based pseudobinary alloys can be transformed into ferromagnetic state through a magnetic field induced phase transition. We highlight the presence of hysteresis and phase coexistence across this metamagnetic transition and argue that the observed phase transition is of first or...

The reaction of Ln(NO(3))(3).6H(2)O (Ln = Gd, Dy) with triethanolamine (teaH(3)) and triethylamine in MeOH gives two isostructural hexanuclear wheels of formula [Ln(6)(teaH)(6)(NO(3))(6)].8MeOH, the magnetic properties of which show slow magnetisation relaxation in the Dy case.

A new macrocyclic complex DyCl3(LN5)·4H2O (1) has been prepared in which the Dy(III) ion is equatorially bound by an N5-donor macrocycle (LN5). Ac susceptibility data reveal slow relaxation of the magnetisation in zero field below 15 K with a distribution of relaxation rates.
