Meniscal lesions of the posterior horn of medial meniscus (MM) are very often associated with an ACL rupture (16,32,49). Certain specific lesions of the Medial Meniscus (MM) such as meniscosynovial or meniscocapsular tears and meniscotibial ligament lesions are associated with 9 to 17% of ACL Tears (8,21) and are seldom recognized on preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans (8,38). Meniscal ossicles are rare entities of the knee usually involving the medial meniscus. Lateral meniscal ossicles are exceedingly rare. We present a case of a lateral meniscal ossicle found incidentally after trauma. The etiology and characteristic findings on imaging are discussed.

BACKGROUND The prevalence of comorbid knee pathology has been examined for sports-related anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, but it has not been examined in ice hockey players. PURPOSE To compare concomitant bone bruising, collateral ligament injuries, and intra-articular injuries in ACL injuries suffered during ice hockey versus other sports. STUDY DESIGN Cross-sectional study; Lev...
T1rho and T2 relaxation times of the normal adult knee meniscus at 3T: analysis of zonal differences
BACKGROUND Prior studies describe histological and immunohistochemical differences in collagen and proteoglycan content in different meniscal zones. The aim of this study is to evaluate horizontal and vertical zonal differentiation of T1rho and T2 relaxation times of the entire meniscus from volunteers without symptom and imaging abnormality. METHODS Twenty volunteers age between 19 and 38 wh...
