A new class of superconductors with the gap function odd under time reversal is considered. Some of the physical properties of these superconductors such as the Meissner effect, composite condensate, gapless spectrum and transition from the odd gap superconductor to the BCS state at lower temperatures are discussed.

It is argued that the ground state of threeand four-colour QCD contains a monopole condensate, necessary for the dual Meissner effect to be the mechanism of confinement, and support its stability on the grounds that it gives the off-diagonal gluons an effective mass sufficient to remove the unstable ground state mode.

In this work, we study some general property of a strongly correlated electron system defined on a lattice. Assuming that the lattice system exhibits off-diagonal long-range order, we show rigorously that this assumption would lead to Meissner effect. This generalizes previous results of continuous case to a lattice electron system.
