鉱物資源は産業の発展や脱炭素社会の実現において重要な役割を果たすが、その一方でライフサイクル影響評価において鉱物資源使用はもっとも議論の余地のある影響領域の一つとされており、様々な課題を抱えている。そこで本稿では、鉱物資源使用のインパクト評価に関する近年の研究動向や今後の課題について解説することを目的とする。まずインパクト評価における基礎として、鉱物資源使用に関わる問題や影響メカニズムについて整理した。次に、既存の評価手法・モデルを 6 カテゴリーに分類した上で、それらの特徴や課題について解説した。最後に、主に鉱物資源使用のインパクト評価手法開発に関する今後の課題についてまとめた。
