We present a novel Neuro-Immune inspired real-time tracking system that is capable of tracking morphing moving targets over nonbenign backgrounds. We have employed ideas from antigen-presenting cells, T-cell interaction, together with cytokine interaction with neural systems. Our experiments show that the neuro-immune tracking system has the ability to maintain tracking a target even if the tar...

SCTP is a general purpose transport protocol featuring multihoming support and flexible, message oriented data delivery services. With respect to multi-homing, the SCTP standard uses this feature for network level redundancy only and, thus, does not provide load sharing capabilities among the redundant links. In order to satisfy the strict performance requirements for signaling transport, effic...

The past few years have seen mobile operators transition to next-generation mobile networks, specifically from third-generation networks (3G) to long term evolution (LTE). This paper describes the basic architecture and topology of UMTS R4 core network and introduces two options in network planning, i.e., flat structure or layered structure. This paper introduces the re-homing of radio network ...

A novel feature detector is presented for extracting local image features which are invariant to scale. This detector is composed of simple neuron-like elements whose activation is given by the sum of their weighted inputs. These features are employed for the visual homing task and found to yield superior performance to the warping method [1] on panoramic images of an unstructured environment.

Closed-form reliability functions for the wellknown dual homing configuration for the Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) are derived. The new reliability functions are then compared to that of the dual ring configuration, which again show that the dual homing network is often more reliable than the dual ring network; however, the model analysis also shows that dual homing is recommended on...

This paper proposes the concept of basis behaviors as ubiquitous general building blocks for synthesizing arti cial group behavior in multi{agent systems, and for analyzing group behavior in nature. We demonstrate the concept through examples implemented both in simulation and on a group of physical mobile robots. The basis behavior set we propose, consisting of avoidance, safe{wandering, follo...

We model duopoly competition between two platforms. They operate in a two-sided market where agents are heterogeneous on both sides of the market and are allowed to multihome. Network effects are captured within a vertical differentiation framework. Under single-homing there exists an interior equilibrium where networks exhibit asymmetric sizes and both firms enjoy positive profits. When all ag...
