Generalised convexity is revisited from a geometrical point of view. A substitute to the subdifferential is proposed. Then generalised monotonicity is considered. A representation of generalised monotone maps allows to obtain a symmetry between maps and their inverses. Finally, maximality of generalised monotone maps is analysed.
We show that a recent definition of relative Rényi entropy is monotone under completely positive, trace preserving maps. This proves a recent conjecture of Müller–Lennert et al. Recently, Müller–Lennert et al. [12] and Wilde et al. [15] modified the traditional notion of relative Rényi entropy and showed that their new definition has several desirable properties of a relative entropy. One of th...
A notion of localized splitting is introduced as a further extension of the splitting notions for iterated monotone maps introduced earlier by Dubins and Freedman (1966) and more generally by Bhattacharya and Majumdar (1999). We will see that under quite general conditions, localized splitting theory is a natural extension of the Doeblin (1937) minorization theory, Harris (1956) recurrence theo...
This is one of a series of papers on Lipschitz maps from metric spaces to L. Here we present the details of results which were announced in [CK06, Section 1.8]: a new approach to the infinitesimal structure of Lipschitz maps into L, and, as a first application, an alternative proof of the main theorem of [CK06], that the Heisenberg group does not admit a bi-Lipschitz embedding in L. The proof u...
In the paper we present some auxiliary facts concerning posets and maps between them. Our main purpose, however is to give an account on complete lattices and lattices of ideals. A sufficient condition that a lattice might be complete, the fixed-point theorem and two remarks upon images of complete lattices in monotone maps, introduced in [10, pp. 8–9], can be found in Section 7. Section 8 deal...

For cost functions $$c(x,y)=h(x-y)$$ , with $$h\in C^2\left( {{\mathbb {R}}}^n\setminus \{0\}\right) \cap C^1\left( {R}}}^n\right) $$ homogeneous of degree $$p>1$$ we show $$L^\infty -estimates $$Tx-x$$ on balls, where T is an h-monotone map. Estimates for the interpolating mappings $$T_t=t(T-I)+I$$ are deduced from this.
We consider a generalized equation governed by strongly monotone and Lipschitz single-valued mapping maximally set-valued in Hilbert space. are interested the sensitivity of solutions w.r.t. perturbations both mappings. demonstrate that directional differentiability solution map can be verified using operator resolvent mapping. The result is applied to quasi-generalized equations which we have ...
In this work, it is presented iterative schemes for achieving to common points of the solutions set of the system of generalized mixed equilibrium problems, solutions set of the variational inequality for an inverse-strongly monotone operator, common fixed points set of two infinite sequences of relatively nonexpansive mappings and common zero points set of two finite sequences of maximal monot...
In this paper, we first introduce a monotone mapping and its resolvent in general metric spaces. Then, we give two new iterative methods by combining the resolvent method with Halpern's iterative method and viscosity approximation method for finding a fixed point of monotone mappings and a solution of variational inequalities. We prove convergence theorems of the proposed iterations in ...
