This paper discusses the use of temperature as a test observable for analogue circuits, presenting a generic configuration for analogue circuit thermal testing. As a case study, static temperature analysis is performed over a two-stage operational amplifier in view of extracting temperature waveforms at different locations on the circuit under test, both under fault-free conditions as well as i...

This paper presents a fully differential dualended ultralow-voltage (ULV) FGUVMOS operational transconductance amplifier (FGUVMOS-OTA), and a Gm-C filter where the FGUVMOS-OTA is used. The OTA has no internal nodes, rail-to-rail operation and dynamic load. The cut-off frequency of the Gm-C filter is tunable over more than 5 decades. The circuits may be operated with supply voltages down to 200mV.

A CMOS operational amplifier with input/output rail-to-rail range is presented. The circuit operates with a 1-V single supply. It uses dynamically biased input level shifters, controlled by a novel tuning scheme, to extend the input common-mode voltage range from one rail to the other. The tuning circuit takes the total biasing current of the amplifier input stage and, hence, its small-signal r...

A high-performance operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) is proposed. In order to increase DC gain, gain bandwidth, and the slew rate under low standby quiescent current, the proposed OTA has the dynamic output current scaling and class AB operation. Under the condition of 250 A quiescent current and a 30 pF load capacitance with a step voltage from 1.2 to 1.5V at a rise time of 1 nsec i...

CMOS continuous-time and switched-capacitor filters which operate at high frequencies with high Quality factor Q are difficult to realize. The finite gain and the finite bandwidth of the integrator amplifiers are the main limitation. This paper describes two techniques to simultaneously increase bandwidth, transconductance, and DC-gain of an amplifier without changing the excess bias or the pow...

This paper presents the design of CMOS operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) with very small transconductance (of order of nano ampere per volt), which uses in very low frequency continuous time filters. This design uses current division technique to reduce the transconductance of OTA. This design is simulated in SPICE tool using 0.25μm technology model file.

A telescopic cascode opamp typically has a higher frequency capability and consumes less power than other topologies. The disadvantage of a telescopic opamp is severely limited output swing. In a conventional telescopic opamp shown in Figure 1, all transistors are biased in the saturation region. Transistors M1-M2, M7-M8 and the tail current source M9 must have at least Vds,sat to offer a good ...

Operational amplifiers (op amps) are as prolific in analog circuits as salt and pepper is on food. They are sprinkled throughout the sensor data acquisition system, performing a variety of functions. For instance, at the sensor interface, amplifiers are used to buffer and gain the sensor output. The current or voltage excitation to the sensor, quite often is generated by an amplifier circuit. F...

The OPA643 provides a level of speed and dynamic range previously unattainable in a monolithic op amp. Using a de-compensated voltage feedback architecture with two internal gain stages, the OPA643 achieves exceptionally low harmonic distortion over a wide frequency range. The "classic" differential input provides all the familiar benefits of precision op amps, such as bias current cancellation...
