In this paper, we show a parabolic version of the Ogawa type inequality in Sobolev spaces. Our inequality provides an estimate of the L∞ norm of a function in terms of its parabolic BMO norm, with the aid of the square root of the logarithmic dependency of a higher order Sobolev norm. The proof is mainly based on the Littlewood-Paley decomposition and a characterization of parabolic BMO spaces....

Roger W. Richardson proved that any parabolic subgroup of a complex semisimple Lie group admits an open dense orbit in the nilradical of its corresponding parabolic subalgebra. In the case of complex symmetric spaces we show that there exist some large classes of parabolic subgroups for which the analogous statement which fails in general, is true. Our main contribution is the extension of a th...

‎in this paper‎, ‎a numerical procedure for an inverse problem of‎ ‎simultaneously determining an unknown coefficient in a semilinear ‎parabolic equation subject to the specification of the solution at‎ ‎an internal point along with the usual initial boundary conditions ‎is considered‎. ‎the method consists of expanding the required‎ ‎approximate solution as the elements of the inverse quadrati...

with the rapid growth of indoor wireless communication systems, the need to accurately model radio wave propagation inside the building environments has increased. many site-specific methods have been proposed for modeling indoor radio channels. among these methods, the ray tracing algorithm and the finite-difference time domain (fdtd) method are the most popular ones. the ray tracing approach ...

In the present paper, stability and convergence properties of linear multistep methods are investigated. The attention is focused on parabolic problems and variable stepsizes. Under weak assumptions on the method and the stepsize sequence an asymptotic stability result is shown. Further, stability bounds for linear nonautonomous parabolic problems with Hölder continuous operator are given. With...

We demonstrate the existence of accelerating parabolic beams that constitute, together with the Airy beams, the only orthogonal and complete families of solutions of the two-dimensional paraxial wave equation that exhibit the unusual ability to remain diffraction-free and freely accelerate during propagation. Since the accelerating parabolic beams, like the Airy beams, carry infinite energy, we...

We introduce tessellation of the filled Julia sets for hyperbolic and parabolic quadratic maps. Then the dynamics inside their Julia sets are organized by tiles which work like external rays outside. We also construct continuous families of pinching semiconjugacies associated with hyperblic-to-parabolic degenerations without using quasiconformal deformation. Instead we use tessellation and inve...

The parabolic partial differential equation arises in many application of technologies. In this paper, we propose an approximate method for solution of the heat and advection-diffusion equations using Laguerre-Gaussians radial basis functions (LG-RBFs). The results of numerical experiments are compared with the other radial basis functions and the results of other schemes to confirm the validit...

We consider an elliptic PDE in two variables. As one parameter approaches zero, this PDE collapses to a parabolic one, that is forward parabolic in a part of the domain and backward parabolic in the remainder. Such problems arise naturally in various stochastic models, such as fluid models for data-handling systems and Markovmodulated queues. We employ singular perturbation methods to study the...
