This paper introduces a wearable computer as a wearable personal station. We propose and implement wristwatch-style wearable personal station and its I/O devices in this paper. Nowadays the progress in miniaturizing more powerful computer systems and the availability of various devices around wearable computing will bring this technology to the edge of a new quality. Wearable computing is start...

Coded caching scheme is a technique which reduce the load during peak traffic times in a wireless network system. Placement delivery array (PDA in short) was first introduced by Yan et al.. It can be used to design coded caching scheme. In this paper, we prove some lower bounds of PDA on the element and some lower bounds of PDA on the column. We also give some constructions for optimal PDA.

Web Browser is the most common tool used for surfing the Internet. With personal computer users growing by leaps and bounds, the use of browsers is also increasing at a similar rate. Outdated versions of browsers have security flaws and hence represent a significant threat to the cyber infrastructure. Yet many users do not keep their browsers updated. Given the fact that voluntariness of action...

Successful PC DBMSs can fund a similar amount of engineering as traditional server-oriented DBMSs. Thus, PC DBMSs could evolve quickly into powerful, yet easyto-use challengers to traditional DBMSs. Could a large number of PC DB servers compete with DBMSs designed for larger machines? In the medium-to-long term, what features will distinguish highend DBMSs? What fraction of DBMS market revenue ...

The high performance personal computers (PCs) made possible an impressive development in the domain of the electric machines mathematical models. The circuit-field models become more sophisticated and are used more frequently in computing the electric machines characteristics. In the paper a personal point of view concerning the state of the art and the trends in this domain is presented.

Two major properties will characterize networks in the future: ‘3C everywhere’ and ‘physical interaction’. These two properties promises a computing infrastructure that seamlessly and ubiquitously aids users in accomplishing their tasks and that renders the actual computing devices and technology largely invisible. This paper begins by sketching pervasive computing scenarios. Next, we delve dee...

The emerging discipline of algorithm engineering has primarily focussed on transforming pencil-and-paper sequential algorithms into robust, efficient, well tested, and easily used implementations. As parallel computing becomes ubiquitous, we need to extend algorithm engineering techniques to parallel computation. Such an extension adds significant complications. After a short review of algorith...

Ubiquitous computing environment is defined by the shift of computing technology from the desktop to the background. One of its most notable attributes is its potential to extend the scope of service and personal mobility. This paper describes an agent-based architecture that brings personal and service mobility to the ubiquitous computing environment. A software agent, running on a portable de...

With the advent of new wireless technologies, mobile personal computers (MPCs) are quickly gaining their popularity. Concurrently an increasingly number of services for MPCs have been developed. However, current services view PMCs as a vehicle to perform individual activities. No attempt has been made to provide process services that reach mobile users via their PMCs. In the real world, many pe...
