This paper presents chaotic behavior of a nonlinear viscoelastic beam under a moving mass interaction. Considering the stretching effect which is modeled by the Lagrangian strain theory and using linear Kelvin-Voigt model to constitute viscoelastic behavior of the beam, the governing equations of transverse vibration is derived. Then Galerkin truncation is applied to find the ordinary different...

This paper proposes three types of one-dimensional piecewise chaotic maps and two symmetrical presents five theorems. Furthermore, some examples that satisfy the theorems are constructed, an analysis model dynamic properties discussed. The construction methods proposed in this have a certain generality provide theoretical basis for constructing new discrete system. In addition, designs pseudora...

Detecting a weak signal from chaotic time series is of general interest in science and engineering. In this work we introduce and investigate a signal detection algorithm for which chaos theory, nonlinear dynamical reconstruction techniques, neural networks, and time-frequency analysis are put together in a synergistic manner. By applying the scheme to numerical simulation and different experim...

We analyze a nonlinear discrete-time Cournot duopoly game, where players have heterogeneous expectations. Two types of players are considered: boundedly rational and naive expectations. In this study we show that the dynamics of the duopoly game with players whose beliefs are heterogeneous, may become complicated. The model gives more complex chaotic and unpredictable trajectories as a conseque...

This paper presents a novel strategy for output feedback damping controller design of the static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) using chaotic optimization algorithm (COA). The design of output feedback controller is formulated as an optimization problem according to the eigenvalue based multiobjective function which is solved by a COA based on Lozi map. Since chaotic mapping enjoys certainty...

The Inverse Frobenius-Perron problem (IFPP) concerns the creation of discrete chaotic mappings with arbitrary invariant densities. In this note, we present a new and elegant solution to the IFPP, based on positive matrix theory. Our method allows chaotic maps with arbitrary piecewise-constant invariant densities, and with arbitrary mixing properties, to be synthesized.

An optoelectronic nonlinear delay oscillator seeded by a pulsed laser source is used to experimentally demonstrate a new transition scenario for the general class of delay differential dynamics, from continuous to discrete time behavior. This transition scenario differs from the singular limit map, or adiabatic approximation model that is usually considered. The transition from the map to the f...

A novel time delayed chaotic oscillator exhibiting monoand double scroll complex chaotic attractors is designed. This circuit consists of only a few operational amplifiers and diodes and employs a threshold controller for flexibility. It efficiently implements a piecewise linear function. The control of piecewise linear function facilitates controlling the shape of the attractors. This is demon...

Feigenbaum discovered a pattern in the period doubling route to chaos for nonlinear systems whose first return map is unimodal with a quadratic extremum. This led to the definition of the Feigenbaum universal constant δ. This constant could then be used to predict the parameter value for which such nonlinear systems turn chaotic, that is, the parameter value (P∞) for which the period tends to i...

Abstrnct -This paper discusses an approach toward higher dimensional autonomous chaotic circuits. We especially consider a particular class of circuits which includes only one nonlinear element, a three segments piecewise-linear resistor, and one small inductor La serially connected with it. The contents are divided into two parts. Part 1 gives a simple fourdimensional example that realizes hyp...
