In the title binuclear complex, [Cu2(NO3)3(C18H16N6Se)(H2O)3]NO3·H2O, the Cu(II) ions are penta-coordinated in a tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry. In both cases, the equatorial planes are formed by a chelating pyrazole-pyridine group, a water mol-ecule and a nitrate O atom, whereas the apical positions are occupied by a water mol-ecule for one Cu(II) ion and a nitrate O atom for the other. The or...

The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title complex, [Cu(3)Na(2)(C(11)H(8)N(2)O(3))(4)(CH(4)O)](n), consists of two Na(I) atoms, three Cu(II) atoms, four 5-(4-methoxy-phen-yl)pyrazole-3-carboxyl-ate ligands and one methanol mol-ecule. The central Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from four pyrazole-3-carboxyl-ate ligands, forming a distorted tetra-hedral (CuN(4)) geometry, while each of...

In this work, we report on the catalytic activity of a manganese complex [(Cl)2Mn(RCOOET)], where RCOOET is ethyl-5-methyl-1-(((6-methyl-3-nitropyridin-2-yl)amino)methyl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate, in oxidation phenol or catechol by atmospheric oxygen to form o-quinone. The [(Cl)2Mn(RCOOET)] catalyzes at rate 3.74 µmol L−1 min−1 tetrahydrofuran (THF), similar manner catecholase tyrosinase.

The remarkable prevalence of pyrazole scaffolds in a versatile array bioactive molecules ranging from apixaban, an anticoagulant used to treat and prevent blood clots stroke, bixafen, pyrazole-carboxamide fungicide control diseases rapeseed cereal plants, has encouraged both medicinal organic chemists explore new methods developing pyrazole-containing compounds for different applications. Altho...

Copper(II) complexes of a novel pyrazole containing porphyrinogen and cobalt(III) and zinc(II) complexes of a pyrazole containing tripodal ligand having N-donor atoms have been investigated. 5-Methyl-3-formylpyrazole (MPA) on reaction with copper(II) nitrate or perchlorate in the presence of tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (tren) forms novel pyrazole-based porphyrinogen complexes [Cu(T(3)-porphyrinogen...

Explorations of phases in the quaternary Fe(III)-B(III)-P(V)-O system prepared by the high temperature solution growth (HTSG) method led to single-crystal growth of anhydrous diiron(III) borotriphosphate, Fe(2)[BP(3)O(12)]. This phase has been synthesized previously as a microcrystalline material and its structure refined in space group P3 from powder X-ray diffraction data using the Rietveld m...

In the title compound, C(29)H(29)N(5), the central pyridine ring and the two pyrazole rings are approximately coplanar, the dihedral angles between the pyridine and pyrazole rings being 3.94 (12) and 14.84 (12)°. The pyrazole and phenyl rings on each side of the mol-ecule are twisted with dihedral angles of 46.72 (8) and 73.39 (8)°. One phenyl ring inter-acts with a pyrazole ring of a neighbour...

Polyamines appear to inhibit peroxidation of vesicles containing acidic phospholipids. A correlation exists between polyamine binding to phospholipid vesicles and its protective effect. However, phosphatidylinositolcontaining vesicles which bind spermine are not protected by the poyamine [Tadolini, Cabrini, Landi, Varani & Pasquali (1985) Biogenic Amines 3, 97-106]. In the present paper I teste...

Polycrystalline samples and single crystals of the complex boride Ti9Fe2Ru18B8 were synthesized by arc-melting the elements and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis. Ti9Fe2Ru18B8 is a new substitutional variant of the Zn11Rh18B8 structure type, space group P4/mbm (No. 127), whose remarkable feature is that it contains one-dimensional chains of d...

Certain DNA sequences are known to be unusually sensitive to nicking via the Fe2+-mediated Fenton reaction. Most notable are a purine nucleotide followed by three or more G residues, RGGG, and purine nucleotides flanking a TG combination, RTGR. Our laboratory previously demonstrated that nicking in the RGGG sequences occurs preferentially 5' to a G residue with the nicking probability decreasin...
