We have adapted to erythrocytes a method for the determination of alpha- and gamma-tocopherols in plasma and platelets. Erythrocytes (50 microL) were extracted with methanol containing tocol (internal standard) and pyrogallol. Tocopherols were partitioned into chloroform, washed, and injected in methanol onto a reversed-phase (C18) "high-performance" liquid-chromatographic column. The mobile ph...

The catalytic oxidation under green conditions of pyrogallol into purpurogallin was performed by air with laccase model copper complexes or plant extracts containing peroxidases in the presence hydrogen peroxide. A study conducted for turnip, depending on amount extract, method introduction and pH. Optimization these made it possible to easily obtain pure a yield 78%.

In the present work we studied the reaction under gastric conditions of pyrogallol red (PGR), a polyphenolic dye, with nitrous acid (HONO). PGR has been used as a model polyphenol due to its strong UV-visible absorption and its high reactivity towards reactive species (radicals and non-radicals, RS). The reaction was followed by UV-visible spectroscopy and high performance liquid chromatography...

In this new method for determining urinary protein, the reaction is complete within 10 min at 37 degrees C. This method is applicable to automated as well as manual measurements. Protein concentration and absorbance at 600 nm are linearly related throughout a wide range of concentrations, 10 to 16 000 mg/L. However, the chromogenicity of the gamma-globulins in this method is 70% of that of albu...

abstract   anthocyanins are natural pigments widely spread in nature. anthocyanin color molecules are a subclass of flavonoids. they are responsible for red, purple, and blue colors of many flowers, fruits and vegetables. fruits and berries are sample sources of anthocyanins in nature. in many researches, the positive effects of fruits and berries intake on human health have been reported. anth...
