In a recent paper, the first author introduced a general theory of corner rings in noncommutative rings that generalized the classical theory of Peirce decompositions. This theory is applied here to the study of the stable range of rings upon descent to corner rings. A ring is called quasi-duo if every maximal 1-sided ideal is 2-sided. Various new characterizations are obtained for such rings. ...

Let $R$ be a ring, $sigma$ be an endomorphism of $R$ and $M_R$ be a $sigma$-rigid module. A module $M_R$ is called quasi-Baer if the right annihilator of a principal submodule of $R$ is generated by an idempotent. It is shown that an $R$-module $M_R$ is a quasi-Baer module if and only if $M[[x]]$ is a quasi-Baer module over the skew power series ring $R[[x,sigma]]$.

In this paper we introduce the notion of classical quasi-primary submodules that generalizes the concept of classical primary submodules. Then, we investigate decomposition and minimal decomposition into classical quasi-primary submodules. In particular, existence and uniqueness of classical quasi-primary decompositions in finitely generated modules over Noetherian rings are proved. More...

Let $R$ be an associative ring with identity. A ring $R$ is called reversible if $ab=0$, then $ba=0$ for $a,bin R$. The quasi-zero-divisor graph of $R$, denoted by $Gamma^*(R)$ is an undirected graph with all nonzero zero-divisors of $R$ as vertex set and two distinct vertices $x$ and $y$ are adjacent if and only if there exists $0neq rin R setminus (mathrm{ann}(x) cup mathrm{ann}(y))$ such tha...

The ring decomposition technique of part I is extended to the case when the factors in the direct product decomposition are no longer fields but arbitrary chain rings. This includes not only the case of quasi-cyclic codes over rings but also the case of quasi-cyclic codes over fields whose co-index is no longer prime to the characteristic of the field. A new quaternary construction of the Leech...
