Within the framework of refining an articulatory model, articulatory data were collected using MRI, video and X-ray. A set of two-to-three dimensional rules were derived from the axial and coronal MRI images and applied to midsagittal X-ray images. A novel two dimensional imaging technique of the chemical bonding state was developed by combining the extended X-ray emission fine structure method with an electron probe X-ray microanalyzer mapping technology.
