We consider a uni ed setting for studying local valuated groups and coset-valuated groups, emphasizing the associated ltrations rather than the values of elements. Stable exact sequences, projectives and injectives are identi ed in the encompassing category, and in the category corresponding to coset-valuated groups.

We give a Hodge-theoretic interpretation of the multi-plier ideal of an effective divisor on a smooth complex variety. More precisely, we show that the associated graded coherent sheaf with respect to the jumping-number filtration can be recovered from the smallest piece of M. Saito's Hodge filtration of the D-module of vanishing cycles.

We show that any quasi-Gorenstein deformation of a 3-dimensional Buchsbaum local ring with I-invariant 1 admits maximal Cohen-Macaulay module, provided it is quotient Gorenstein ring.
