In this paper, we consider minimizing the Mumford-Shah functional over two-valued functions in the plane. Existence of minimizers is straightforward and we show that the edge set of any zninimizer is a finite union of C curves.
The traditional textile art has passed a path along with the royal figurative paintings of the court, which was dynamic in the first period of the Qajar era, and it went out of progress in the second period, because of the flourishing of naturalism. Despite the boom at the beginning, the traditional textiles found many substitutes with the arrival of industrial fabrics in the middle of the ment...

in public ceremonies, some of the deepest collective memories of the city are being shaped. in safavid era, feasts and funerals; which were either celebration of iranian old traditions or shiite rituals, provided some of the most memorable scenes in public life of the city. this has been mentioned frequently in itineraries and travelogues - both iranians and foreigners. these ceremonies gradual...
The preservation properties of Gieseker stability and semistability under the Fourier transform of Mukai are discussed. A fundamental lemma is proved describing the degree of sheaves whose Fourier transforms are concentrated in degrees 0 or 2. This is used to prove results about the behaviour of both Gieseker stability and Mumford-Takemoto stability under the Fourier transform.
Paying attention to the importance of square can be seen in architecture and organization of physical space of Iranian cities in the past, before Islam and also after that in Islamic urbanization. Saheb-Abad square of Tabriz, Shah square og Qazvin and Naghsh_e_Jahan square of Isfahan are samples of past squares which present power of governments and subtlety of governmental kings that build ...
Iran has a rich civilization and a long history during which medical science flourished at specific periods. For instance, medicine blossomed in Sassanids era (226 - 652 AD). One of the most remarkable cultural and scientific centers of Sassanids era was the city of Gondishapur located in the south-west Iran in Shah-Abad near Susa in Khuzestan Province. The city was rebuilt in the third century...
We propose a novel image segmentation model, called the Semi-Supervised Subspace Mumford-Shah model, which incorporates subspace clustering techniques into a Mumford-Shah model to solve texture segmentation problems. While the natural unsupervised approach to learn a feature subspace can easily be trapped in a local solution, we propose a novel semi-supervised optimization algorithm that makes ...
