In this work, we study the problem of closed sequential pattern mining. We propose a novel approach which extends a frequent sequence with closed itemsets instead of single items. The motivation is that closed sequential patterns are composed of only closed itemsets. Hence, unnecessary item extensions which generates non-closed sequential patterns can be avoided. Experimental evaluation shows t...

In this paper we introduce a sequential block iterative method and its simultaneous version with op-timal combination of weights (instead of convex combination) for solving convex feasibility problems. When the intersection of the given family of convex sets is nonempty, it is shown that any sequencegenerated by the given algorithms converges to a feasible point. Additionally for linear feasibil...

Objective: Nowadays, financial distress prediction is one of the most important research issues in the field of risk management that has always been interesting to banks, companies, corporations, managers and investors. The main objective of this study is to develop a high performance predictive model and to compare the results with other commonly used models in financial distress prediction M...

This paper describes a method of identifying a set of crosstalk-induced delay faults which may need to be tested in synchronous sequential circuits. In this process, the false crosstalk-induced delay faults that need not (and/or can not) be tested in synchronous sequential circuits are also identify. Our method classifies the pairs of aggressor and victim lines, using topological information an...

Consider a sequential process where agents have individual values at every possible step. A planner is in charge of selecting steps and distributing the accumulated aggregate values among agents. We model this process by a directed network where each edge is associated with a vector of individual values. This model applies to several new and existing problems, e.g., developing a connected publi...

We establish the foundations of a lattice-theoretic model for a variant of communcating sequential processes. This technical report is not intended as a stand-alone work, but as a companion to a paper which defines the process algebra and describes its model. We give proofs for various theorems stated in that paper. In particular we prove that the axioms of the process algebra are sound.

Unsupervised sequence learning is important to many applications. A learner is presented with unlabeled sequential data, and must discover sequential patterns that characterize the data. Popular approaches to such learning include statistical analysis and frequency based methods. We empirically compare these approaches and find that both approaches suffer from biases toward shorter sequences, a...
