In this paper, we present a new class of sextic trigonometric Bernstein (ST-Bernstein, for short) basis functions with two shape parameters along their geometric properties which are similar to the classical functions. A Bézier (ST-Bézier, curve and characteristics is also constructed. The continuity constraints connection adjacent ST-Bézier curves segments discussed. Shape control can provide ...
A rational quadratic trigonometric Bézier curve with two shape parameters, which is analogous to cubic Bézier curve, is presented in this paper. The shape of the curve can be adjusted as desired, by simply altering the value of shape parameters, without changing the control polygon. The rational quadratic trigonometric Bézier curve can be made close to the rational cubic Bézier curve or closer ...
A rational cubic trigonometric spline with two shape parameters which play an important role in manipulating the shape of the curve is described in this paper. Its algebraic analogue with shape parameters has been discussed. Spline is presented both in interpolatory and rational B-spline form and the properties of resulting Bsplines are also studied. Keywords— Computer aided geometric design, r...
Extensions of the classical B-spline curves by shape parameters are discussed in this paper. Using a method of linear blending, first we extend the abilities of GB-splines, originally defined by uniform shape parameter, to multiple shape parameters. Then two methods, having different types of continuity, are examined in terms of their curvature behavior.
We present a method for estimating the shape of a deformable model using the least-squares residuals from a model-based optical flow computation. This method is built on top of an estimation framework using optical flow and image features, where optical flow affects only the motion parameters of the model. Using the results of this computation, our new method adjusts all of the parameters so th...
Asymmetry and fat-tail are both stylized facts of financial return data. Many asymmetric and fat-tailed distributions have been used to model the innovation in autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (ARCH) models. This article introduces two more distributions from systems of frequency curves into the ARCH context: Pearson’s Type IV and Johnson’s SU. Both distributions have two shape par...
