BACKGROUND Anisakiasis is a parasitic disease caused primarily by Anisakis spp. larvae in Asia and in Western countries. The aim of this study was to investigate the genotype of Anisakis larvae endoscopically removed from Middle Eastern Japanese patients and to determine whether mucosal atrophy affects the risk of penetration in gastric anisakiasis. METHODS In this study, 57 larvae collected ...

In the context of multimedia retrieval, the goal of accuracy is to a certain extent contradictory with that of efficiency. The former relies on exploiting sophisticated features, whereas the latter favors using simple features with reduced dimensionality. As an endeavor to strike the balance between these two goals, this paper presents a self-adaptive semantic schema mechanism (SSM) for multime...

One commonly finds in applications of smooth radial basis functions (RBFs) that scaling the kernels so they are ‘flat’ leads to smaller discretization errors. However, the direct numerical approach for computing with flat RBFs (RBF-Direct) is severely ill-conditioned. We present an algorithm for bypassing this ill-conditioning that is based on a new method for rational approximation (RA) of vec...

Accurately reconstructing the 3D geometry of a scene or object observed on 2D images is a difficult problem: there are many unknowns involved (camera pose, scene structure, depth factors) and solving for all these unknowns simultaneously is computationally intensive and suffers from numerical instability. In this paper, we algebraically decouple some of the unknowns so that they can be solved f...

Benthic foraminiferal assemblages from Maastrichtian strata, Gansserina gansseri-Abathamphalus mayaroensis Planktonic Foraminiferal Zone, of the AbTalkh Formation at Aitamir section (west of the Kopeh-Dagh basin) were investigated in order to evaluate the palaeoenvironmental changes (organic matter flux and bottom-water oxygenation). Maastrichtian faunal assemblages are well preserved and diver...

Abstract Treatment planning for a patient with worn dentition and systemic disorder needs to assess different aspects of patient’s oral condition and life. This study presents prosthetic reconstruction approach of a patient with worn dentition using metal ceramic restorations, and removable partial denture. It showed that a simple and low cost but careful treatment planning may results in im...

Kaolin-SO3H as a new solid acid is prepared via reaction of kaolin and chlorosulfonic acid. This natural based catalyst is very inexpensive and easy available. Imidazoles are an important class of heterocycles being the core fragment of different natural products and biological systems such as anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antifungal, antimycotic, antibiotic, antiulcerative, anti...

In this research, behaviour of clayey soils under triaxial loading is studied using Neural Network. The models have been prepared to predict the stress-strain behaviour of remolded clays under undrained condition. The advantage of the model developed is that simple parameters such as physical characteristics of soils like water content, fine content, Atterberg limits and so on, are used to mode...

This paper presents stop conditions for solving General Assignment Problems (GAP), in particular for Travel Salesman Problem in an Euclidian 2D space the well known condition Jordan’s simple curve and opposite condition for the Knight Tour Problem. The Jordan’s simple curve condition means that a optimal trajectory must be simple curve, i.e., without crossing but for Knight Tour Problem we use ...

An efficient one-pot condensation for the synthesis of 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthene is  achieved through a condensation of aryl aldehydes and 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexandione in the presence of  NBS. This method enjoys several advantages such as low cost, simple work up procedure and safe reaction condition. In addition, water was chosen as a green solvent.
