This study investigates the use of a spring-bar mechanism (SBM) in vibration suppression system to improve its performance. The SBM, comprising bars and springs, is configured with conventional linear spring-damper isolator unit. dynamic response, force transmissibility, energy flow behaviour are studied evaluate performance integrated system. It found that SBM can introduce hardening, softenin...

The plasma membrane, the outermost surface of eukaryotic cells, contains various substructures, such as protrusions or invaginations, which are associated with diverse functions, including endocytosis and cell migration. These structures of the plasma membrane can be considered as tubules or inverted tubules (protrusions) of the membrane. There are six modes of membrane curvature at the plasma ...

We provide direct evidence that Bin/Amphiphysin/Rvs (BAR) family members bend the steady state membrane architecture of organelles in intact cells. In response to inducible BAR molecular actuators, organelles exhibit distinct changes to the orientation and degree of their membrane curvature. This rapidly inducible system may offer a mechanism by which to better understand the structure-function...

Food CSs, presented (i) concomitantly with SD controlling bar pressing for food, or (ii) on the background of non-discriminated bar pressing (FR 1/15), suppress instrumental performance but elicit undiminished conditioned salivation. This result supports Soltysik-Konorski's model of CNS mechanism controlling food-oriented behavior which postulates drive inhibition by taste-consummatory neurons.

BAR domains are protein modules that bind to membranes and promote membrane curvature. One type of BAR domain, the N-BAR domain, contains an additional N-terminal amphipathic helix, which contributes to membrane-binding and bending activities. The only known N-BAR-domain proteins in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Rvs161 and Rvs167, are required for endocytosis. We have explored the...
