The converse of Schur’s lemma (or CSL) condition on a module category has been the subject of considerable study in recent years. In this note we extend that work by developing basic properties of module categories in which the CSL condition governs modules of finite length.

effect of intermittent mash-pellet feeding programs on broilers performance, ascites susceptibility and economic yield was studied using 480 broilers in six treatments and five replicates of 16 chicks per pen were used in a completely randomized design. treatments including: 1. mash feed, 2. heated-mash feed, 3. mash feed in starter and grower and pellet feed in finisher, 4. mash feed in starte...

In metazoans, the highly conserved Notch pathway drives cellular specification. On receptor activation, the intracellular domain of Notch assembles a transcriptional activator complex that includes the DNA-binding protein CSL, a composite of human C-promoter binding factor 1, Suppressor of Hairless of Drosophila melanogaster [Su(H)], and lin-12 and Glp-1 phenotype of Caenorhabditis elegans. In ...

The activity of the Notch pathway revolves around a CSL-class transcription factor, which recruits distinct complexes that activate or repress target gene expression. The co-activator complex is deeply conserved and includes the cleaved Notch intracellular domain (NICD) and Mastermind. By contrast, numerous CSL co-repressor proteins have been identified, and these are mostly different between i...

for repeat testing. The authors’ conclusion that it should be considered for screening patients requires further consideration and study but conceivably, this assay should improve the future of VWD diagnosis. Conflict-of-interest disclosure: P.D.J. has received research funding from Bayer, CSL Behring, and Octapharma; and honoraria for educational talks from Baxalta, CSL Behring, and Octapharma. n

Non-migratory resident species should be capable of modifying their foraging behavior to accommodate changes in prey abundance and availability associated with a changing environment. Populations that are better adapted to change will have higher foraging success and greater potential for survival in the face of climate change. We studied two species of resident central place foragers from temp...

The fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE) realized in two-dimensional electron systems under a magnetic field is one of the most remarkable discoveries in condensed matter physics. Interestingly, it has been proposed that FQHE can also emerge in time-reversal invariant spin systems, known as the chiral spin liquid (CSL) characterized by the topological order and the emerging of the fractionaliz...

β-Glucan is a cell wall component that is one of the most plentiful cell polysaccharides. Moreover, it has been found to have several beneficial effects on the immune system. In yeast, β-glucan is mainly contained in the yeast cell wall, and thus it is important to produce high levels of cell mass for the mass production of yeast β-glucan. Response surface methodology (RSM) offers a potential m...

Dynamic activity of signaling pathways, such as Notch, is vital to achieve correct development and homeostasis. However, most studies assess output many hours or days after initiation of signaling, once the outcome has been consolidated. Here we analyze genome-wide changes in transcript levels, binding of the Notch pathway transcription factor, CSL [Suppressor of Hairless, Su(H), in Drosophila]...
