Optical tomography is a recent addition to the available set of computerized imaging methods available to characterize live or inanimate matter. It uses light in the optical and nearinfrared ranges and is thus particularly suited to study samples that exhibit significant variation in their optical properties in this wavelength range. This includes, for example, biological tissues as well as som...

One of the grand challenges in biomedical science is to develop effective methods for optical imaging. In this talk I will review recent work on related inverse scattering problems for the Boltzmann transport equation and fast image reconstruction algorithms for large data sets. Numerical simulations and experiments in model systems are used to illustrate the results.

in radiation cancer treatments, the most of the side effects could be minimized using a proper dosimeter. gel dosimeter is the only three‑dimensional dosimeter and magnetic resonance imaging (mri) is the gold standard method for gel dosimeter readout. because of hard accessibility and high cost of sample reading by mri systems, some other alternative methods were developed. the optical computed...

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a biomedical imaging technique with high spatial-temporal resolution. With its minimally invasive approach OCT has been used extensively in ophthalmology, dermatology, and gastroenterology. Using a thinned-skull cortical window (TSCW), we employ spectral-domain OCT (SD-OCT) modality as a tool to image the cortex in vivo. Commonly, an opened-skull has been u...

As a revolutionary observation tool in life science, biomedical, and material optical microscopy allows imaging of samples with high spatial resolution wide field view. However, conventional methods are limited to single cannot accomplish real-time image processing. The edge detection, enhancement phase visualization schemes have attracted great interest the rapid development analog computing. ...
