biosurfactants are surface-active compounds produced by microorganisms. in this study, we collected 60 inguinal area and ear canal samples from cows, sheep, and goats (each, 10 animals) and screened for biosurfactant-producing bacteria. we also determined the genera of culturing strains. fifty six hemolytic bacterial strains (27, 22 and 7, from cows, sheep and goats, respectively) were isolated...

Biosurfactants can be used for bioremediation as amphiphilic compounds that have shown good tolerance to changes in temperature, salt concentration, pH, and other environmental factors. They received increased attention because they are biodegradable do not generate any secondary contaminants. remove organic molecules example hydrocarbon contaminants through various mechanisms such surface tens...

Bacillus pumilus strain CCMA-560 was isolated from an oil-contaminated mangrove swamp and was shown to produce biosurfactants. The strain appears to be capable of degrading some plant cell wall-related compounds, including hemicelluose and pectin. Genes for biopolymer export and polysaccharide intercellular adhesin synthesis were also annotated.

Numerous Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have been found to be capable of synthesizing surface-active compounds i.e biosurfactants. These are amphiphilic produced by microorganisms on their cell surface or secreted extracellularly that a tendency reduce and interfacial tension. In the present study, different process parameters including nitrogen carbon source, pH, temperature, aeration agitation we...

Biosurfactants were found to be a suitable candidate for environment clean-up and as an alternative conventional treatment systems. In the present study, polyaromatic hydrocarbon degrading organism Bacillus halotolerans was screened its ability produce biosurfactant during degradation. The bio-surfactant activity of by using various methods like oil spreading technique, emulsification assay, fo...

Biosurfactants are a functionally and structurally heterogeneous group of biomolecules produced by multiple filamentous fungi, yeast, bacteria, characterized their distinct surface emulsifying ability. The genus Bacillus is well studied for biosurfactant production as it produces various types lipopeptides, example, lichenysins, bacillomycin, fengycins, surfactins. lipopeptides possess broad sp...

Bio-based rhamnolipid production from waste streams is gaining momentum nowadays because of increasing market demand, huge range applications and its economic environment friendly nature. Rhamnolipid type biosurfactants are produced by microorganisms as secondary metabolites have been used to reduce surface/interfacial tension between two different phases. Biosurfactants reported be an alternat...

BACKGROUND Although a transition toward sustainable production of chemicals is needed, the physiochemical properties of certain biochemicals such as biosurfactants make them challenging to produce in conventional bioreactor systems. Alternative production platforms such as surface-attached biofilm populations could potentially overcome these challenges. Rhamnolipids are a group of biosurfactant...
