A continuous culture system was developed to examine the cell surface carbohydrates of Bradyrhizobium sp. strain 32H1. When cultures were shifted from aerobic to microaerobic growth conditions, nitrogenase activity was induced and extracellular polysaccharide levels were greatly reduced; however, the levels of cell-associated cyclic beta-1,6 -1,3 glucans were found to be essentially unchanged.

We present here the complete genome sequence of Bradyrhizobium japonicum strain E109, one of the most used rhizobacteria for soybean inoculation in Argentina since the 1970s. The genome consists of a 9.22-Mbp single chromosome and contains several genes related to nitrogen fixation, phytohormone biosynthesis, and a rhizospheric lifestyle.

Rhizobial cells attached or unattached to soil particles were estimated. Nonsterile soils into which antibiotic-resistant mutants of Bradyrhizobium japonicum had been introduced were fractionated by a centrifugation technique into two fractions: A, which contained mainly rhizobial cells attached to soil particles, and F, which contained mainly rhizobial cells unattached to them. Rhizobial count...

Intact cells of Bradyrhizobium japonicum USDA 110 were transformed with a 30-kilobase plasmid to efficiencies of 10(6) to 10(7) transformants per microgram by high-voltage electroporation. The technique was reliable and simple, with single colonies arising from transformed cells within 5 days of antibiotic selection. Plasmid DNA from B. japonicum transformed the Bradyrhizobium (Arachis) sp. wit...

Bradyrhizobium japonicum E109 is a bacterium widely used for inoculants production in Argentina. It known its ability to produce several phytohormones and degrade indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). The genome sequence of B. was recently analyzed it showed the presence genes related synthesis IAA by indole-3-acetonitrile, indole-3-acetamide tryptamine pathways. Nevertheless, not able instead has this h...

The aim of the study was to select microbiological inoculants for a specific plant species, i.e., white lupine (Lupinus albus L.), increase efficiency diazotroph process. research involved an in vitro assessment interactions between symbiotic bacteria (Bradyrhizobium sp. isolated from Nitragina and Nitroflora commercial preparations dedicated lupine) selected endophytes (Pseudomonas fluorescens...

The rhcJ and ttsI mutants of Bradyrhizobium japonicum USDA122 for the type III protein secretion system (T3SS) failed to secrete typical effector proteins and gained the ability to nodulate Rj2 soybean plants (Hardee), which are symbiotically incompatible with wild-type USDA122. This suggests that effectors secreted via the T3SS trigger incompatibility between these two partners.

Bradyrhizobium sp. Ai1a-2 is is an aerobic, motile, Gram-negative, non-spore-forming rod that was isolated from an effective nitrogen fixing root nodule of Andira inermis collected from Tres Piedras in Costa Rica. In this report we describe, for the first time, the genome sequence information and annotation of this legume microsymbiont. The 9,029,266 bp genome has a GC content of 62.56% with 24...
