A family of polynomials parameterized by the conjugacy classes of a finite Coxeter group is investigated. These polynomials, together with the character table of the group, determine the associated generic degrees. The polynomials are described completely for classes that meet a parabolic subgroup whose components are of type A or are dihedral, and for the class of Coxeter elements.

The irreducible representations of the cubic space group are described and used to determine the mapping of continuum states to lattice states with non-zero linear momentum. The Clebsch-Gordan decomposition is calculated from the character table for the cubic space group. These results are used to identify multiparticle states which appear in the hadron spectrum on the lattice.

The decomposition numbers of the Rudvalis sporadic simple group and of its double covering group modulo 3 are completely determined. The results were obtained using the computer algebra system MOC developed by Jansen, Lux, Parker, and the author, but the proofs are given in conventional form and can be verified by hand with the ordinary character table.
