Collaborative Networked Organisations (CNO) face the same if not even harder problems when trying to transform towards a learning organisation. Small and medium sized organisations which still represent the motor for job creation in Europe often respond to market turbulence by engaging in nonhierarchical CNOs such as Virtual Enterprises. A proven method to support learning in distributed set-up...

The boom in the application of information technologies to education and training, e-learning, underscores a fundamental need to understand how these technologies improve the learning process. Yet, very little Information Systems research is focusing on this issue. A review of education literature points out that learning strategies are shifting towards a more collaborative learning. In this pa...

Lots of theories underlying collaborative learning have been proposed. Software development is in nature collaborative activities. Based on the background, studies on software development support and/or analysis of collaborative software development based on collaborative learning theories have emerged. This paper briefly introduces some studies which adopt the theories. We analyze the state-of...

Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) are rich in goaloriented activities and collaborative and social interactions, both essential for learning the game and progressing. In this chapter we employ a theoretical framework for linking learning and collaborative learning principles with MMOGs and investigate, through an exploratory and qualitative approach, features of the tasks, groups, and ...

In this paper, we propose a very concise deep learning approach for collaborative filtering that jointly models distributional representation for users and items. The proposed framework obtains better performance when compared against current state-of-art algorithms and that made the distributional representation model a promising direction for further research in the collaborative filtering.
