We present the first complete Australian Squash mosaic virus (SqMV) genome sequences. We compared the 2 Australian genomes from 20-year-old cucurbit samples with 8 other SqMV genomes. The Australian genomes shared >99.0% nucleotide identities, and their RNA1 and RNA2 sequences most closely resembled isolates Y and Kimbe from Japan, respectively.

A label-free in situ method to monitor reactions in real time by using fluorescent supramolecular chemosensors based on cucurbit[8]uril is presented. It allows sensing of enzymatic activity, inhibitor and activator screening, and analyte detection with unprecedented versatility and high sensitivity.

The host-guest interaction of a series of cyclohexyl-appended guests with cucurbit[8]uril (Q[8]) was studied by ¹H NMR spectroscopy, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), and X-ray crystallography. The X-ray structure revealed that two cycloalkane moieties can be simultaneously encapsulated in the hydrophobic cavity of the Q[8] host to form a ternary complex for the first time.

The assembly of two-dimensional (2D) large channel uranyl-organic polyrotaxane networks as well as structural regulation of uranyl-bearing units using jointed cucurbit[6]uril-based pseudorotaxanes with integral rigidity based on supramolecular inclusion is presented for the first time. This construction strategy concerning controlling molecular integral rigidity based on supramolecular inclusio...

Cucurbit[7[uril, the wheel component in two new and structurally simple pseudorotaxanes, shuttles between the two axle termini at low pH, whereas the shuttling motion stops at higher pH, as the wheel is bound to the center of the axle.

Linear supramolecular polymers were obtained in aqueous solution by employing cucurbit[8]uril-based host-guest interaction as the driving force. Water-soluble monomers were prepared through direct metal-coordination. The rigid and bulky terpyridine-Fe linker can effectively enhance the monomer's solubility and suppress its cyclization, thereby promoting supramolecular polymerization.

Host-guest complexation with cucurbit[7]uril of anthocyanin model compounds in which acid-base equilibria are blocked resulted in essentially complete stabilization of their color. The color protection is a thermodynamic effect and establishes a strategy to stabilize these colored compounds at pH values of interest for practical applications.

cis-Diaminostilbene dihydrochloride encapsulated in cucurbit[7]uril does not spontaneously isomerize to the trans isomer at room temperature as a result of the strong host-guest interactions including strong hydrogen bonds between the two protonated amine termini of the C-shaped guest and the portal oxygen atoms of the host.

OBJECTIVE To examine the impact of a government income management program on store sales. DESIGN AND SETTING An interrupted time series analysis of sales data in 10 stores in 10 remote Northern Territory communities during 1 October 2006 to 30 September 2009, which included an 18-month period before income management; a 4-6-month period after the introduction of income management; a 3-month p...
