The mechanisms and energetics involved in the conversion of CHI to CH3OH by COO+ are examined by using guided ion beam mass spectrometry. The forward and reverse reactions, COO+ + CH4 Co+ + CHgOH, the collisional activation of Co+(CH,OH), and the related reactions, COO+ + D2 Co+ + D20, are studied. It is found that the oxidations of methane and D2 by COO+, both exothermic reactions, do not occu...

Several studies have reported the adverse effects of nano-CuO on hippocampal CA1 neuron, whereas little has been known about nano-CuO neurotoxicity in vivo. In the present study, we investigated the effects of nano-CuO on spatial cognition and electrophysiological alterations in rats. In addition, histological and biochemical changes in rat's hippocampus were measured as well. Morris water maze...

Cerium-rich metal oxide materials have recently emerged as promising candidates for the photocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In this article, we report the synthesis of ordered mesoporous CuO/CeO₂ composite frameworks with different contents of copper(II) oxide and demonstrate their activity for photocatalytic O₂ production via UV-Vis light-driven oxidation of water. Mesoporous CuO/C...

Nanosized CuO-CeO2, CuO-Fe2O3, CuO-CeO2-Al2O3 and CuO-Fe2O3-CeO2-Al2O3 were prepared by co-precipitation and wet impregnation techniques and were used for Catalytic decomposition of acetylene to produce carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Weight gain technique was used to follow up the catalytic reactions. The results revealed that catalyst chemical composition, catalytic temperature, acetylene flow rate ...

Highly-uniform In2O3/CuO bilayer and multilayer porous thin films were successfully fabricated using a self-assembled soft template and a simple sputtering deposition technique. The sensor based on the In2O3/CuO bilayer porous thin film shows obviously improved sensing performance to ethanol at a lower working temperature, compared to its single layer counterpart sensors. The response of the In...

COO research is a popular research topic in international marketing which adresses the issue of how Countries-Of-Origin of products influence consumer evaluations. The purpose of this contribution is to explore how COO research has developed over time in growing disconnection with both consumers and corporate concerns. We offer a number of possible explanations to this ‘relevance gap’, with the...

Polarity studies in two classes of imidazolium-based protic ionic liquids (PILs) possessing [HSO(4)](-), [HCOO](-), [CH(3)COO](-) and [CH(3)CH(2)COO](-) anions were carried out using a solvatochromic method from 298.15 to 353.15 K. For 1-methylimidazolium class of PILs, E(T)(30) was found to be independent over the entire range of temperature, while E(T)(30) was noted to decrease with a rise in...

Group VIII B metal oxides supported on gamma-alumina were investigated as catalysts and promoters of MoO3 hydrodesulfurization catalysis. Superior promotion was observed in PbO promoted catalyst compared to that of CoO, the typically accepted promoter. Other metal oxides, SnO and Ho2O3 exhibited reasonable hydrodesulfurization catalysis promotion but lower than for CoO promoted catalyst.

Technique has been developed to fabricate ordered arrays of microcontainers. We report that ordered microcontainer arrays of Cu can be fabricated on glass substrate by thin film deposition and self-assembly technology. In addition, CuO nanowires are found to grow only in the inner sides of microcontainers, which verifies the stress growth mechanism of CuO nanowires. High-resolution transmission...

We report on the application of Raman scattering as a probe to study 4-mercaptopyridine (4-Mpy) surface-modified CuO nanocrystals. Enhanced Raman scattering from 4-Mpy adsorbed on CuO nanocrystals was observed. The Raman signals displayed 10(2) enhancement compared with those of 4-Mpy in solution. We compared the Raman spectra of 4-Mpy molecules adsorbed on CuO nanocrystals and Ag, Cu substrate...
