In this work, we investigated the effect of Rb and Ta doping on the ionic conductivity and stability of the garnet Li7+2x−y(La3−xRbx)(Zr2−yTay)O12 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.375, 0 ≤ y ≤ 1) superionic conductor using first principles calculations. Our results indicate that doping does not greatly alter the topology of the migration pathway, but instead acts primarily to change the lithium concentration. The st...

We report the investigation of the photoresponse of the conductivity of a recently synthesized class of organic semiconductors based on functionalized pentacene. These materials form high quality single crystals that exhibit a thermally activated resistivity. Unlike pure pentacene, the functionalized derivatives are readily soluble in acetone, and can be evaporated or spincast as thin films for...

We study the ac-conductivity in linear response theory for the Anderson tight-binding model. We define the electrical acconductivity and calculate the linear-response current at zero temperature for arbitrary Fermi energy. In particular, the Fermi energy may lie in a spectral region where extended states are believed to exist.

The electrical conductivity, U, and thermoelectric power, S , of the solid solutions (Dy,Y,-x)2M0207 have been measured in the temperature range 300-10 K. Log(aT) versus 1/T and S versus 1/T plots were found to be linear down to about 100 K. The activation energies E, and Es obtained from conductivity and thermoelectric power measurements, respectively, differ by one order of magnitude, indsati...

Ohmic heating is defined as a process which alternating electric current is passed through food with the primary purpose of heating it due to the electrical resistance and can be specially applied as an alternative heating method. In this research, Aloe vera gel concentrates having 0.5-2% soluble solids were ohmically heated up to 60°C by using four different voltage gradi...

Abstract In this work, a heterojunction of Al/p-Si/CoPc/Au was fabricated using the thermal evaporation technique by depositing CoPc on p-Si. Complex impedance spectroscopy employed to investigate characteristics and full band profile measurements heterojunction. Arrhenius fitting double relaxation operations utilized determine activation energy tested device. The studied device gains negative ...

Lithium-sulfur batteries show advantages for next-generation electrical energy storage due to their high energy density and cost effectiveness. Enhancing the conductivity of the sulfur cathode and moderating the dissolution of lithium polysulfides are two key factors for the success of lithium-sulfur batteries. Here we report a sulfur host that overcomes both obstacles at once. With inherent me...

In order to rationalize the high electrical conductivity of 2,5-dimethyl-N,N'-dicyanoquinonediimine radical anion salts (2,5-DM-DCNQI) of copper, silver, and lithium, we performed onedimensional energy band structure calculations of extended-Hückel type (namely Self-Consistence of Charge, SCC) for one-dimensional models of these "organic conductors". In each case, SCC yields two overlapping inc...

Solid-state energy conversion technologies such as thermoelectric and thermionic refrigeration and power generation require materials with low thermal conductivity but good electrical conductivity, which are difficult to realize in bulk semiconductors. Nanostructures such as quantum wires and quantum wells provide alternative approaches to improve the solid-state energy conversion efficiency th...
