The concept of embedded acoustic systems for diffusing spatial audio is considered. This paradigm is enabled by advancements in floating-point hardware on inexpensive embedded Linux systems. Examples are presented using line array configurations for electroacoustic music and for making interactive kiosk and poster systems.

Resound is an open source cross-platform software tool for real time multi-channel sound spatialisation. This paper gives a non-technical account of the key capabilities of the system, predominantly from the standpoint of live performance in electroacoustic music, with specific examples of how the various functionalities might be used.

We present preliminary outcomes of a feasibility study of a novel application of machine learning technology to the sound diffusion work of an electroacoustic composer/performer. We propose a simple but effective visualisation method for diffusion data, and present evidence that simple learning technology can learn the necessary structure to facilitate diffusion performance.
