To what extent are experiences of powerlessness explained as involving a loss control, and to attempts increase patients’ control suitable means addressing these experiences? In this paper, I present some findings from recent project in the phenomenology argue that response powerlessness, ideal has limited use either diagnostic or therapeutic function.
