Coral Pt islands films are deposited via electrochemical reduction on silica-coated nanostructured Ag electrodes. From these devices surface-enhanced (resonance) Raman [SE(R)R] signals of molecules exclusively attached to Pt are obtained with intensity up to 50% of the value determined for Ag. SE(R)R spectroscopic investigations are carried out with different probe molecules, silica-coating thi...

Casein films were successfully prepared with the spin-coating technique of aqueous casein solutions on base-treated glass surfaces. The film structure is investigated in real space with optical microscopy and atomic force microscopy and for the first time in reciprocal space with grazing incidence small-angle X-ray scattering (GISAXS). The size of the substructures detected in the film increase...

We demonstrate an optical amplification of organic dye within a TiO2 inverse-opal (IO) distributed feedback (DFB) reflector prepared by a slide-coating method. Highly reflective TiO2 IO film was fabricated by slide coating the binary aqueous dispersions of polystyrene microspheres and charge-stabilized TiO2 nanoparticles on a glass slide and subsequently removing the polymer-opal template. TiO2...

The preparation of La0.4Sr0.6TiO3 (LSTO) buffer layer and YBa2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO) superconducting thick film by a low cost technology was studied. The crystal orientation of LSTO and YBCO films was detected by X-ray diffraction, the conductivity of LSTO film and superconductivity of YBCO coating were investigated by standard four-probe method. Excellent in-plane alignment, smooth and dense LSTO buff...

Film coating solutions containing different grades of HPMC (E5, E15 and E50) with and without polyethylene glycol (with various molecular weights) were examined by an oscillatory method, using Haake CV 100 rheometer. Fundamental rheological parameters (?, G? and G² ) were measured over the frequency range from 0.04 to 2 Hz. The variation with frequency of the loss tangent (a ratio of viscous to...

In this paper, the designing and nano-manufacturing of the SnO2 sensors by the Dip-Coating method is reported to detect CO2 in a gaseous environment by its characteristic absorption. In addition, in order to prepare the Sol-Gel solution, SnCl2 as a primary material with different concentration is selected to deposit in diverse thicknesses. After the SnO2 deposited thin-film with different ...

The application of a coating layer on a tablet is a commonly used technique to selectively control tablet characteristics. Among the most important functions of the coating is the regulation of the release of active ingredient. In the course of a typical coating process, the tablet passes a spray zone multiple times. Each time, a partial coating layer is applied. For each tablet, this is repeat...

Recent developments in thin-film coatings for optical communication systems are reviewed. Particular emphasis is given to thin-film designs with dispersion related to the photonic crystal superprism effect. A single dispersive coating may be used for multiplexing or demultiplexing several wavelength channels by spatial beam shifting. 2004 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (310.0310) Thin ...

The approach to the critical solution in leading order coating and rimming flow of a thin fluid film on a uniformly rotating horizontal cylinder is investigated. In particular, it is shown that the weight of the leading order “full-film” solution approaches its critical maximum value with logarithmically infinite slope as the volume flux approaches its critical value.

In cookware industry, interior spray coating process is an important process to protect the cookware product from the corrosion. In this process, the coating material “TEFLON” is used to spray to cover all the part’s surface. If a pot or pan is not too deep, one spray gun is enough to spray to cover all the interior surface. However, for the high side-wall pot, two spray guns must be used to sp...
