Extradosed bridges are similar to cable-stayed bridges in that stay cables are used for strengthening. Mter introducing the concept of extradosed bridges by J. Mathivat, this new type of bridges have been constructed in Japan. This paper shows some examples and the difference between extradosed and cable-stayed bridges in a structural aspect.
