We study proton-antiproton annihilation into ΛcΛ̄c pairs within the generalized parton picture. Our starting point is the double handbag diagram which is shown to factorize into soft generalized parton distributions for the p → Λc (and p̄ → Λ̄c) transition and a hard subprocess amplitude for uū→ cc̄. Thereby the mass of the charm quark is taken as the hard scale so that our results are not restrict...
We review recent theoretical results on generalized parton distributions (GPDs) of nuclei, emphasizing the following three roles of nuclear GPDs: (i) complementarity to free proton GPDs, (ii) the enhancement of traditional nuclear effects such as nuclear binding, EMC effect, nuclear shadowing, and (iii) an access to novel nuclear effects such as medium modifications of bound nucleons.
Using the generalized Lipatov-Altarelli-Parisi-Dokshitzer equations for the two-parton distribution functions we show numerically that the dynamical correlations contribute to these functions quite a lot in comparison with the factorized components. At the scale of CDF hard process (∼ 5 GeV) this contribution to the double gluon-gluon distribution is nearly 10% and increases right up to 30% at ...
Nucleon form factors at high momentum transfer t are treated in the framework of generalized parton distributions (GPD’s). The possibility of obtaining information about parton high transverse momentum components by application of GPD’s to form factors is discussed. This is illustrated by applying an ad-hoc 2-body parton wave function to elastic nucleon form factors F1 and F2, the N → ∆ transit...
We study nuclear e ects of charged current deep inelastic neutrino-iron scattering in the framework of a χ analysis of parton distribution functions (PDFs). We extract a set of iron PDFs which are used to compute xBj-dependent and Q -dependent nuclear correction factors for iron structure functions which are required in global analyses of free nucleon PDFs. We compare our results with nuclear c...
The strong force which binds hadrons is described by the theory of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). Determining character and manifestations QCD one most important challenging outstanding issues necessary for a comprehensive understanding structure hadrons. Within context parton picture, Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) have been remarkably successful in describing wide variety processes. Howe...
