Improving inference speed and accuracy is one of the main objectives of current deep learning-related research. In this paper, we introduce our approach using middle output layer for this purpose. From the feasibility study using Inceptionv4, we found that our approach has potential to reduce the average inference time while increasing the inference accuracy.
There has been increasing research into the COVID-19 pandemic and theological responses to it. However, not much done on how women, particularly in Africa, utilised spiritual resources respond pandemic. This article sought bridge this gap. The both descriptive analytical methods, argued that many African women were more concerned about health of community than their male counterparts who concen...
We present evidence for parallel auditory thalamocortical pathways that serve two different behaviors. The pallid bat listens for prey-generated noise (5-35 kHz) to localize prey, while reserving echolocation [downward frequency-modulated (FM) sweeps, 60-30 kHz] for obstacle avoidance. Its auditory cortex contains a tonotopic map representing frequencies from 6 to 70 kHz. The high-frequency (BF...
Introduction There is a resurgence in the need to evaluate the economic burden of prescription drug hospitalizations in the United States. We used the Wisconsin 2014 Hospital Discharge data to examine opioid related hospitalization incidence and costs. Fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, is frequently being used for as an intraoperative agent in anesthesia, and post-operative recovery in hos...
Can two streams of auditory information be processed simultaneously ? Evidence from the gleaning bat
A tenet of auditory scene analysis is that we can fully process only one stream of auditory information at a time. We tested this assumption in a gleaning bat, the pallid bat (Antrozous pallidus) because this bat uses echolocation for general orientation, and relies heavily on prey-generated sounds to detect and locate its prey. It may therefore encounter situations in which the echolocation an...
There have been several approaches to improving the eeciency of text-based Information Retrieval systems and more recently, Web search engines. Many of them have concentrated on improving the algorithms used to index or retrieve text material. In this paper, we propose a exible framework for enhancing the precision of retrieval, where a core IR system is supplemented with postprocessing in the ...
Introduction. Diffusion NMR and MRI have become the most important modalities for non-invasively probing tissue microstructures. To date, the single-pulsed-field-gradient (s-PFG) methodology has been the most widely used both in biomedicine and in porous media MR applications. In neuroscience, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) has provided an excellent means to study coherently packed anisotropic ...
The driven-equilibrium single-pulse observation of T(1) (DESPOT1) and T(2) (DESPOT2) are rapid, accurate, and precise methods for voxelwise determination of the longitudinal and transverse relaxation times. A limitation of the methods, however, is the inherent assumption of single-component relaxation. In a variety of biological tissues, in particular human white matter (WM) and gray matter (GM...
The explosive use of social media, in information dissemination and communication, has also made it a popular platform for the spread of rumors. Rumors could be easily propagated and received by a large number of users in social media, resulting in catastrophic effects in the physical world in a very short period. It is a challenging task, if not impossible, to apply classical supervised learni...
