In this note we consider a fourth order degenerate parabolic equation modeling the evolution of the interface of a spreading droplet. The equation is approximated trough a collisional kinetic equation. This permits to derive numerical approximations that preserves positivity of the solution and the main relevant physical properties. A Monte Carlo application is also shown. Formulation cinétique...
The problem of bubble contraction in a Hele-Shaw cell is studied for the case in which the surrounding fluid is of power-law type. A small perturbation of the radially symmetric problem is first considered, focussing on the behaviour just before the bubble vanishes, it being found that for shear-thinning fluids the radially symmetric solution is stable, while for shear-thickening fluids the asp...
Abstract We study the sharp interface limit of two dimensional stochastic Cahn-Hilliard equation driven by types singular noise: a space-time white noise and divergence-type noise. show that with appropriate scaling solutions problems converge to determinisitic Mullins-Sekerka/Hele-Shaw problem.
We show the existence of noncircular, self-similar solutions to the three-dimensional Hele-Shaw suction problem with surface tension regularisation up to complete extinction. In an appropriate scaling, these solutions are found as bifurcation solutions to a nonlocal elliptic equation of order three. The bifurcation parameter is the ratio of the suction speed and the surface tension coefficient....
Large-time behaviour of Hele-Shaw flow with surface tension and with injection or suction in one point is discussed. We consider domains which are initially small perturbations of balls. Radially symmetric solutions are stationary after a suitable time-dependent rescaling. The evolution of perturbations can be described by a non-local nonlinear parabolic evolution equation. Global existence res...
We study the well-posedness of the Hele-Shaw-Cahn-Hilliard system modeling binary fluid flow in porous media with arbitrary viscosity contrast but matched density between the components. Well-posedness that is global in time in the two dimensional case and local in time in the three dimensional case are established. Several blow-up criterions in the three dimensional case are provided as well.
We study an initial-boundary value problem (IBVP) for a coupled Cahn-Hilliard-Hele-Shaw system that models tumor growth. For large initial data with finite energy, we prove global (local resp.) existence, uniqueness, higher order spatial regularity and Gevrey spatial regularity of strong solutions to the IBVP in 2D (3D resp.). Asymptotically in time, we show that the solution converges to a con...
