The presence of the A*24020102L allele is implicated in one donor from the CBMD who serologically was typed as A2; B44, B55; Cwl, Cw7. The DRB4*01030102N allele was identified in one healthy donor and in one patient with MDS during routine HLA class II DNA typing. The DRB4*01030102N allele was identified in the patient's father, who had CML, and was associated with the HLA-A3-B7-Cw7-DRB1*0701-D...

The HLA gene complex on human chromosome 6 is one of the most polymorphic regions in the human genome and contributes in large part to the diversity of the immune system. Accurate typing of HLA genes with short-read sequencing data has historically been difficult due to the sequence similarity between the polymorphic alleles. Here, we introduce an algorithm, xHLA, that iteratively refines the m...

We retrospectively analyzed results for 154 patients with acquired severe aplastic anemia who received bone marrow transplants between 1993 and 2000 from unrelated donors identified through the Japan Marrow Donor Program. Patients were aged between 1 and 46 years (median, 17 years). Seventy-nine donor-patient pairs matched at HLA-A, -B, and -DRB1 loci, as shown by DNA typing. Among the 75 misma...

HLA typing of 71 patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) showed an overall increase in frequencies of HLA-A3, -B7, -DR2 as well as concomitantly decreased frequencies of HLA-44 and DR7. The strongest associations were seen with HLA-DR2, -DR7 and -B44 in CIDP overall, although they did not reach statistical significance.

background: the study aimed to examine the association between human leukocyte antigen (hla) class ii allele frequencies and breast cancer in iranian women. methods: a total of 100 patients with pathologically proven breast cancer who referred to cancer institute were randomly selected and compared with a group of age matched healthy blood donors (n = 80). hla class ii alleles were determined b...

Takayasu's disease is well-known for its characteristic clinical features and its elusive etiology. Recently, we encountered twin Japanese sisters, both of whom were diagnosed as having Takayasu's disease. The parents, two sisters, and one brother are healthy. Family history revealed the parents are first cousins. Analyses of serveral blood types and HLA typing were performed on all members of ...
