An inorganic layer and dye molecules have synergistically suppressed the recombination in a quantum dot sensitized solar cell (QDSSC), by the design of a structure featured TiO2-CdS-ZnS-N3 (N3: RuL2(NCS)2 (L = 2,2'-bipyridyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid)) hybrid photoanode. When fabricated into solar cells, a cobalt complex-based electrolyte rather than an iodine-based one was employed to obtain an i...
This work describes the simulation and modeling of current voltage characteristics of polymer light emitting diode. To understand the device characteristics first a single layer organic device with single carrier injection is studied. The simulations are used to clarify the role of barrier height, device thickness and mobility. A new analytical model is developed based on a simple mobility mode...
Development of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) based on colloidal quantum dots is driven by attractive properties of these fluorophores such as spectrally narrow, tunable emission and facile processibility via solution-based methods. A current obstacle towards improved LED performance is an incomplete understanding of the roles of extrinsic factors, such as non-radiative recombination at surface d...
The results of studies the influence thicknesses electron-blocking, hole-conducting and recombination layers on luminance-voltage other electrophysical characteristics a multilayer light-emitting diode with an active layer based semiconductor quantum dots are presented. Optimized voltages determined to achieve maximum efficiency electroluminescence diode. Keywords: dots, diode, blocking layer.
Various types of defect clusters are generated in bulk Si-based high-energy particle detectors. They become either recombination centres or charge trapping centres. Populated create internal fields which may affect the dynamics and remaining free charges. In semiclassical regime, can be described by Boltzmann equation. this paper, stochastic description is presented as an alternative to a direc...
Transient absorption spectroscopy on the μs-s time scale is used to monitor the yield and decay dynamics of photogenerated holes in nanocrystalline hematite photoanodes. In the absence of a positive applied bias, these holes are observed to undergo rapid electron-hole recombination. The application of a positive bias results in the generation of long-lived (3 ± 1 s lifetime) photoholes.
Nonequilibrium can be a source of order. This rather counterintuitive statement has been proven to be true through a variety of fluctuation-driven, self-organization behaviors exhibited by out-of-equilibrium, many-body systems in nature (physical, chemical, and biological), resulting in the spontaneous appearance of macroscopic coherence. Here, we report on the observation of spontaneous bursts...
Overall photocatalytic water splitting is one of the most sought after processes for sustainable solar-to-chemical energy conversion. The efficiency of this process strongly depends on charge carrier recombination and interaction with surface adsorbates at different time scales. Here, we investigated how hydration of TiO2 P25 affects dynamics of photogenerated electrons at the millisecond to mi...
