soil conservation service (scs) adjusted the kostiakovs infiltration model by adding a constant coefficient, for improvement of estimation. the improved model has three constant parameters, which are difficult to calculate. so scs has taken the third constant parameter as equal to 0.65-0.7 cm to simplify the estimation. this parameter varies in different soil and often outranges the scs estimat...

We display the power Topp-Leone (PTL) distribution with two parameters. The following major features of PTL are investigated: quantile measurements, certain moment’s measures, residual life function, and entropy measure. Maximum likelihood, least squares, Cramer von Mises, weighted squares approaches used to estimate A numerical illustration is prepared compare behavior achieved estimates. Data...

The uniformly minimum variance unbiased (UMVU), maximum likelihood, percentile (PC), least squares (LS) and weighted least squares (WLS) estimators of the probability density function (pdf) and cumulative distribution function are derived for the generalized Rayleigh distribution. This model can be used quite effectively in modelling strength data and also modeling general lifetime data. It has...

Abstract: Many estimation methods have been proposed for the parameters of statistical distribution. The least squares estimation method, based on a regression model or probability plot, is frequently used by practitioners since its implementation procedure is extremely simple in complete and censoring data cases. However, in the procedure, heteroscedasticity is present in the used regression m...

In this contribution we extend our previous results on the structured total least squares problem to the case of weighted cost functions. It is shown that the computational complexity of the proposed algorithm is preserved linear in the sample size when the weight matrix is banded with bandwidth that is independent of the sample size.
