As a new and promising compression technology for hydrogen gas, the ionic liquid compressor inherits advantages of hydraulic system. The density is one key parameters influencing fluid flow field, sloshing bulk liquid, movement droplets generated during operation. An appropriate selection important design, which would improve thermodynamic performance compressor. However, varied significantly d...

The well-known classical nucleation theory (CNT) for the free energy barrier towards formation of a nucleus of critical size of the new stable phase within the parent metastable phase fails to take into account the influence of other metastable phases having density/order intermediate between the parent metastable phase and the final stable phase. This lacuna can be more serious than capillary ...

The melting of I-alcohol monolayers adsorbed at the air-water interface has been studied using X-ray reflectivity. This technique allows for an accurate determination of the thickness and the density of the monolayer. The reflectivity, both in specular and non-specular directions, over a large temperature range of different chain lengths (from Cio to C16) have been interpreted using a model tak...

First-order phase transitions are characterized by a discontinuous first derivative of the Gibbs free energy, so that volumes and entropies are discontinuous. Such transitions are common in the crystalline state, but extremely rare in liquid substances and experimentally evidenced in only one pure element, phosphorus. Here we report combined in-situ Raman scattering, X-ray diffraction and densi...

The nature of glass phases of liquid crystals in random porous media depends on the effective disorder strength. We study how the disorder strength depends on the density of the porous media and demonstrate that it can increase as the density decreases. We also show that the interaction of the liquid crystal with random porous media can destroy long-range order inside the pores.

in this paper, at first we have formulated the lowest order constrained variational method for the relativistic case of an interacting fermion system at finite temperature. then we have used this formalism to calculate some thermodynamic properties of liquid in the relativistic regime. the results show that the difference between total energies of relativistic and non-relativistic cases of liqu...

The basis for the anomalies of water is still mysterious. Quite generally tetrahedrally coordinated systems, also silicon, show similar thermodynamic behavior but lack--like water--a thorough explanation. Proposed models--controversially discussed--explain the anomalies as a remainder of a first-order phase transition between high and low density liquid phases, buried deeply in the "no man's la...
